Don't you mean 3D platformers? Not many of them on the PC but PS2 has the best and biggest library of those.

Not exactly. Probably something like adventure games with platforming element. And actualy i've played most of the ps games like Spyro, Ratchet and Clank, Crash bandicoot ICO, Shadow of the colossos .

Not sure if Thief fits your description, but I always enjoyed walking over the ledges in the shadows, climbing trough a window ^_^ and ofcourse the rope arrows that allow you to reach hidden spots or passageways!
Oh man I miss thief!

This game was good but i played even that one and most adventure games by Eidos like Akuji, Ninja, Hitman - that was great stealth.

If you own HL2 try the Kreedz Climbing mod. http://kzmod.com/news.php
It might not be what you are looking for since it has no story and is mainly jumps and duckjumps, but the parcours are awesome and it does have multiplayer. It's just great fun to see the pros climb the ridiciolous parcours in minutes for which it took me hours to complete.

Well it looks intereting. But really not exactly adventure game.
And it appears it's kinda hard to install it without Half-life 2.

Actualy that's kinda cool. I never knew there are actual climbing simulators. Only if there was one that is more complex and with story or something.
