Im tempted to re-install this and play it through to end. Never did get too far into it. And with the DRM removal thats rather ace. Maybe ill hang on for that "directors cut" thing though.

As far as I understood it the "Directors Cut" edition just changes the toned down north american version to the normal EU edition in terms of content such as uncut sexcards and language plus violence like more blood and dismemberment. (Unsure which editions this was toned down in though.)

I just bought the ' The Witcher : Enhanced Edition' and was happily installing it..... around at ... 90% or so... I got some data error, cycle redundancy check... well, I try again... and same thing... I try copying the corresponding .cab file on the hd, and the dvd fails to even start copying it... I'm started to 'panic' and quickly dug my laptop from closet and tried with that... same error, well... had one more dvd drive to try on and... same error :'(

Curse atari!, you'll make me a pirate again yarr..

I returned the game to shop and got refunded

I recently picked it up again, but lost al my old savegames. Wasn't that far (just in the "rich"part of town) and couldn;t remember all anyway, so I was content to start all over again. This time though, I had the help of the 1.4 and 1.5 patch which changed gameplay a lot from what I remembered. It was a lot more finished, had more cutscenes and for some mreason, the story and related quests were clearer and a little more logical. I am now fully enjoying it again (except for the swamp area, always hated it, and still do Very Happy )

So if you haven't yet, I would advise you to start playing again, you'll love it, I'm sure...

And if you like it, buy it Smile Just don't buy the game from German speaking countries Smile

Or hope you get a good burn.

Btw, the EE release in Germany/Austria... is it censored? I read from a German forum that it is... but I wonder if it only applies, if you install the German localized version from the disc (as it has 10 different languages).

For any North American owners of the game the director's cut patch is now available, makes the game uncensored just like most European editions.
(Blood, fatality attacks, sex and some of the dialogue from what I know.)

Does anybody know a good place for witcher info/help etc?

Simple things like, where the feck is that guy now i goto hand this quest into, as he is not appearing where he should no more. Or why did that girl that promised to meet me for a quick one never show up, and somehow Im sure i saw her body in a crypt/cave afterwards..

stuff like that.. The enhanced version im playing is utterly fantastic but sometimes either im not looking for info in the right places "ingame" or the game lacks some small guidance at times to assist you what area you should be in/looking etc etc..

cheers..

I'm pretty sure you have it, you can scroll the quest items with the little arrows on the sides. Sometimes it's in the middle and sometimes on the end, just drag mouse over objects to see what they are.

Sorry to drag up an old thread but I got this last night and have a question...

Is the enhanced edition already patched to version 1.4 or do I need to install all the patches before 1.5?

Enhanced edition is 1.4, so you only need 1.5 now.

Be a little patient with the combat, you'll get a feel for it, don't worry. And use WASD for moving !

This.

Made by Polish developer nonetheless. Cool Face

Also, 1.5 patch removes the copy protection, so you don't need the crack I think.
