I usually dont use below 1680x1050,cuz thats my monitors resolution.The main reason is,it looks crappy on lower ones :s

I think the last time I saw boxes that size here in the UK was around the time Half Life 1 and messiah came out. Since then we have had nice tidy DVD cases.

Well the reason that the boxes where so huge. Was that most of the time you where getting a manual with over 100 pages. Not like today where you must pay for a frigging manual.

I was using 1024x768 (CRT) like 10 years or more; that's desktop resolution and some games; some heavy games I played 800x600, sometimes even 640x480.
Now I use 1680x1050 (LCD), and play games in that same resolution, because I have a better computer.
I used to be a knee like you. Then I took an adventurer in the arrow.

1024x768, wow that was a long time ago now! 1280x1024 i used for my first two TFT's (non widescreen, obviously) and even that feels like it was ages ago..

but i am still using 1024 even in my monitor can do better ..... i am quite used with this setting. and until i switch to vista, i think i'll stick to 1024 |

ah .i used this resolution for like EVER . until i bought a 22 inch monitor.
i can play in 1280 but in 1024 on a 22 it s like PAIN.so no. no more 1024 for me.

your "-1" fails not using all the real-estate the monitor allows, even if not stretching, still. 1024*768 / 1680*1050 = < 50% of desktop space -> pointless  what's the point of having such a monitor? |
