toki o kakeru shōjo (the girl who lept through time)

i lately went through anidb and wondered why a silly highschool movie dominated the charts - half an hour into watching it, i knew why.
it hasn't got an epic storyline or awesome special fx, things i usually look for in anime. but god damn, it's got soul.
10/10

Basilisk is pretty fun, bit boring at times. Somehow I want to rush to the end.

some do have pretty decent dubs, besides I don't understand japanese at all and I rather spend time watching the scenes rather than subtitles

actually in some cases i prefer the dub over the original, because it lets me watch whats happening, rather than always watching the subs... i watch enough subtitled movies that i CAN do both at the same time, but if the dub is good, then id rather watch the du.. maybe its because ive always been pretty selective with the anime i watch and luckily those animes have had good dub work done, but there are some really good dubs out there that are every bit as good as the original.

Yeah, it was great, but the ending is gonna be bothering me for weeks.

Firemaster. I dled some remastered shit off of usenet. It had the 26 episoedes, with the directors cut ones, and then The End of Evangelion.

debating getting it, whats the opinion of the evengelion rebuild movies? (well first movie i guess)

i saw one trailer, but it looked more like one of those crappy amv's, so it made the first film look pretty crappy, i tried watching a second trailer on youtube but it started with some dopey chick talking about it, so i turned it off before it even got to the trailer bit of the video... with my mighty brain i get tired of shit much faster than the average person

-The first movie didn't change much from the series. It basically covers eps 1-6. Some minor changes have been made here and there, animation techniques have been updated, score altered somewhat-ish..
Looks glorious in HD though. Surprised

Second movie could change things quite a bit actually, there's a new eva and pilot for one thing. Cover for the second movie in spoiler. New girl is in the bottom right. Voiced by Maaya Sakamoto. Eargasm here I come. Very Happy

 Spoiler:

It's up to you if you want to watch it of course but I liked it a lot. Nostalgia blast etc..

Ugh, just watch the movies then. I naturally assumed you watched it because it's so well known. You said you love anime and you never watched eva, for shame.
It's a fucking multi billion dollar franchise and you never watched any of it?? Shocked

If you don't wanna watch the series, you're gonna miss out on most of it. But I guess you could watch Death and Rebirth, which IIRC, covers the whole series, and the first part of End of Evangelion. Although, 26 episodes put into an hour, so of course you're still gonna miss out on alot.

Eva was very good imo. Although, it did confuse the hell out of me towards the end. But then again, what anime isn't confusing?

I do wish they make more Eva stuff (I know they're still making movies), but at the same time I don't, cause I know it wouldn't be nearly as good.

Yeah, I've seen some clips from Geass, and they doo look a bit weird. Not that it really matters, as long as everything else is good.

In case you didn't already watch it, Ergo Proxy is a kick-ass anime. Could've used a little more of that CGI in the first episode tho.
