Nobody cares for how hard or not it is for you to figure the game out Passburger, nor your snide remarks regarding germans.
I suggest you keep that to yourself.

Second spoiler I posted towards the bottom of the previous page. Smile

Finally finished Broken Valley and it now seems I'm at the main part of the game, seeing the time that Broken Valley took to finish I wonder how much is left to do. Very Happy
(Tried to do every normal quest and side quest such to minor stuff such as the fortune tellers ramblings to strange chickens and finding all locations, of what I know I only missed two or three areas due to probably them requiring alternate parts in quests.)

 Spoiler:

EDIT: Oh and as Epsilon said previously, "Belegar!"

Many files and folders hint that this is just the beginning though, one folder with a lot of game related data is called \Episode1\ and from the file and folder layout it seems pretty easy to make expansions for the game continuing with \Episode2\ or something like that. Smile

Haven't completed the game yet but you found another bug with the localization, as the name of that file (and it's location) is: "\Data\Video\Story\Endscene_German.wmv" either try renaming it Endscene_English or Endscene_English(US) it's the only video with such a name as it's the only video file where you can hear someone actually speak, it's thus not localized but as the above post shows (In that spoiler.) it's pretty brief.

Ahhh, many thanks 00101010, I'm still rather shocked that it would end so abruptly. I would love for Larian to release a powerful SDK, the list of items that I want to model and add into this game are near endless. I have a feeling however that you're right Beckman, if the game sells reasonably well I wouldn't be surprised if we start seeing major addons released by Larian sometime around Spring 2010.

yep either an addon or a DD3 Very Happy
Though I really get the impression that they run out of time and cut it there. Unique items drop in the last fight and after that the credits roll. Sth. is not right there. o.O

With my 11-th level hero I can`t even scratch them!

Or we will return to Broken Valley by main story some time later?

Pretty sure it's in your chest in your private quarters, somewhat uncertain though.

As for the mine or quarry section, might be a good idea to save it for last just before leaving the valley as since as you say the enemies are a very high level.
(And unfortunately some sections require you to fight multiple enemies, especially when in the actual building.)

Is anyone else having serious performance and graphics problems? Even though I have them set as high as possible everything still looks like a PS1 game. My rig is by no means crap and should be able to handle this game running twice over...so I dunno what the deal is. Is this typical or might it be that my graphics card is an ATI? I dunno what this PhysX thing is all about but surely a game wouldn't require you to have an Nvidia card just to look halfway decent...

Thanks for your help again, Jbeck!

Visuals are a bit behind but it still looks decent, LOD being the main problem though animations are a bit glitchy but both are apparently being worked on for the next patch. (Along with various other game improvements, balance changes and bug fixes from what I've read on the German official forums so far.)

As for performance certain special effects can be somewhat demanding, PhysX seems to be able to offload to GPU but in terms of visuals it doesn't seem to change anything from what I've read and seen in various screens and topics.
(Game still runs at or close to 60 fps - which is max for the game - most of the time here, though I have somewhat better than the average parts for my computer even though in my opinion some of them are getting a bit dated.)

Also don't force AA or AF as for both that can affect performance and for AA won't do anything (NVIDIA users might be able to brute force it via nHancer.) and for AF it might introduce certain glitches. (Like seams in the terrain and shadows.)

SLI/Crossfire isn't supported either albeit it might still show some scaling. (Gamebryo I guess, Bethesda patched both Oblivion and Fallout 3 to take better usage of it though I guess it's not hard to implement with a few engine changes and Gamebryo is a rather versatile engine.)

EDIT: That said visuals are quite near the level seen in NWN 2 and Two Worlds (Better in some aspects.) albeit it doesn't fully match Oblivion (Although Oblivion by default has bad LOD as well but mainly for the actual land mass.) and it terms of feel it's fares quite well similar to Gothic or Sacred 2. Smile
(Or the older Divinity titles, albeit those were mainly 2D.)

]
(Quite similar to NWN 2, albeit it's not like you can totally compare them like that.)

EDIT: It has improved since the first screens of it though.

I think I made it pretty obvious that I know its NOT supposed to be as I described it, I'm just trying to figure out what the problem is. My card is an ATI Radeon 4870 1GB, so I have no idea why the graphics look like they do for me. I am not getting what I've seen in screen shots. As I said, it looks like a PS1 game for me.

Jbeck, I guess you didn't really get what I was saying either. It's not a subjective observation that I'm making. There's something going wrong that I can't quite figure out, and I just wanted to see if others were having this problem.

There's a window parameter in the graphicsettings.xml file, it's in the C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Local\Divinity 2\Profile\ folder. Smile

Havent' actually gotten it to work though, perhaps setting it to "1" (It's "0" by default.) and making the file read-only would work?

JBeckman: Could you apply your l33t skills to resolving a windows 7 problem with running the game?

Seems that Virtual CD 9 is NOT supported by Windows 7, is there any other way to run the game?
We know that Daemon tools isn't supported either [updated DT Lite works in latest version] , the only 'clone cd' style app that does work is the very good Clone Cd application which allows my friend to mount the image but what next?

tb

Where do you get your information? dtools works just fine with W7, in fact I'm using it to run the game.

For W7 DT Lite is the only current alternative or perhaps Alcohol, DT Pro works but not with vIDE, infact the OS can get pretty buggy if you try to enable it, this has since been resolved but there's no release date for the next version of DT Lite/Pro (Should be rather soon I guess.)

For the game the current SecuROM protection means a new version of YASU will be needed albeit some chipsets handle things a bit better and can still the run game if you kil YASU.exe from the task manager to terminate the process but keep the anti-blacklisting stuff. Smile
