WMK or "Weapon Mod Kits" latest version also supports the DLC's. Smile
(Fallout3Nexus like most other mods.)

I'm looking to play one more time through the game and all its DLCs so I was wondering which mods are essential to have the best gaming experience ?
Oh and do DLCs add improvements to the game or only new areas and missions ?

This one depends a lot on your preference. Personally I don't like large mods with lots of changes that someone else considers "more realistic", like FOOK, but prefer mostly small mods that just do what they say and nothing more, like:

jump mod - makes you flip in the air when you jump
DX hi res power armours
hi res moon and improved night sky
male and female body replacers to ensure that the basic undressed state of everyone is nakedness
hair and face mods for more haircuts, eyecolours, etc
a mod that makes the caravan traders essential so they don't get killed off randomly
repair rethought - lets you repair most stuff with scrap metal
seducing women - enables you to seduce and sleep with various npcs
wearable cigarettes - just what it says, lets you put a cigarette in your mouth
limited dismemberment - reduces the chances of body parts flying off or exploding
weapon mod kits (WMK) - probably the only larger mod i use, enables you to customize weapons a bit.. but it also has some annoying changes, like giving the SMG rifle animations as soon as you mod it
"some katanas" - adds three katanas to the game at a specific location

And so on.. like said, generally I prefer the smaller mods that do exactly what they say without coming packaged with someone else's version of game realism. I'd also recommend the large unofficial patch, it fixes a lot of annoying bugs, like how some unique fire based weapons aren't affected by the pyromaniac perk, etc.

I've always disliked those kind of mods, i mean how "hi-res" is the moon IRL really? It shouldnt look as if you're standing 0.5 meter from it or looking at it through a pair of binoculars so you can see every little detail..

Overall texture mods are definetely the most overrated mods, they hardly ever look as good as the originals, they can be of higher res, but that doesnt mean everything. Just my opinion ofc.

A mod that is really good is sprint mod http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1854.. havent used it in a while though since it requires OBSE.

I guess it's partially a matter of making the game into what you wish you could see in RL, with a clear, detailed starry night sky and such. The moon might be a little clearer than it really is, but then again, with all the lights of civilization gone, the moon and the stars would stand out a whole lot more.
Like with other hi-res mods, imo it's a matter of selecting the ones you like and not overdoing it.

Now returning after a long time to Reilly's Rangers and they are all hostile, any way to fix this? with like a command.

I think this happend:
Quote:
Reilly's Rangers at the Ranger Compound can suddenly turn hostile towards you. I went back to collect and found them hostile (I had very high Karma). A possible trigger is a (possibly random) encounter at the mine field. Just before getting to the mine field at the water tower I encountered a hostile ranger in blue armor (not the Reilly's Rangers green) and killed him. That could have been the trigger for it. Is there any possible fix for ranger hostility?

Start a new game from scratch with well-selected mods and no godmode, and play slowly and deliberately. Live inside your character.

Should be fine, the DLCs aren't modified or anything, so the game shouldn't know any difference.

I just wish they could fix the crashing issues (rare, albeit annoying) once and for all while they're at it. I've tried PROPHETs release though, and oddly, the crashing is not nearly as prominent as with RELOADEDs (on my system that is, this may vary).

OT: Didn't think this account was still active. I registered it roughly five years ago, and haven't used it ever since. :-p Cheers, nontheless.

Can some let me know what version their FalloutLauncher.exe is with the 1.7 patch? Mine is listed as 1.0.9.0 and dated 10-28-08 so it does not seem to be updating when I patch. Any help would be appreciated.

Here, patch installed flawlessly (I rarely use the launcher so it's not cracked or anything which means the patch will work better.) should work with the 1.7 update if you run it over the file. (Won't update as it's already patched.)
