Nforce, nfohump or whatever this site is called nowadays really should start a consular service.
Anyways a friend had her bike stolen recently as shes very sad about the whole thing. I'm thinking of meeting her for coffe some day soon. I was thinking of getting her a toy bike, kinda as a cute joke but also something to cheer her up. This is were I need advice though:

Would she like this gesture or would she start weeping cause the toy bike would remind her of what had happened? shes a very fun, smart girl but shes very emotional. One second shes happy and on top of the world and the next everything is down the toilet.

I'm not attracted to her, eventhough she's very cute.

Buy her a bicycle lock instead and then laugh when she bursts out crying.

Seriously, i probably wouldn't buy her the toy.

don't buy the toy man , she'll probably get upset and think you're mocking her loss
show her a good time and make her happy , treat her nice and she'll get over it in time .. then RAPE RAPE RAPE

Buy her like a charm or a key ring in the shape of a bike.

Much better idea.

I think you should buy her the stupid toy bike. Those are the gestures that often go unnoticed, I could be totally wrong. It shouldn't make you uncomfortable to give it but it is all up to you dude.

My dad really wanted to buy a boat, I bought him toy replicas of the boats he wanted, it was all I could afford. He really liked my effort. It was several years back but still I know it was the right thing to do for us.

Its a bike, not her first born or one of her kidneys! Why the hell would she get emotional about that? If she does I would suggest you steer well clear of her mate, she sounds like she could be bunny boiler material.. Watch yourself..

That being said its a thoughtful gesture..

It would be a nice gesture. Thing is shes really struggled with her life, always something going wrong or some problem. And now when her bike got stolen it was like a line was crossed she says shes ok but you can tell somethings changed about her.
I do this more as a concerned friend, I'm not trying to get in her pants just want to see her smile again.

I would go for a key chain (ring) thing, that way it would be kinda funny but thoughtful gesture, and then comfort her by telling that probably all will be alright.

That way every time she sees the key ring she would remember how you tried to make her feel better...
