dont knock it. back before i stopped playing l4d out of fucking disgust, the best games i had were on chinese servers... man when they speak or get all excited, its a fuckin hoot.
but it was never a problem for me. i always used the browser, and picked servers manually... only went on to russian or chinese or korean servers whenever i couldnt find a full game.
regardless though, ive still got l4d on do not update, because i dont want to waste the bandwidth on the thing... illl update when valve releases all the shit they promised. one shitty quickly made crapaign, isnt enough to make up for their bs and their lies. not by a long shot.

Completely disagree. L4D2 will probably be overrated, but L4D1 was new and fresh and received ratings it deserved.

The gameplay is simplistic and repetitive as all hell, with a game engine that became outdated 3 years ago. I'm not saying it's a terrible game but it doesn't deserve the top shelf blockbuster status it is enjoying by a long shot.
I really don't know how they manage to hype up games so much. It's all in the marketing/advertising, with the majority of ppl's "opinion" of the game directly reflecting whatever the magazines say.

Source is in no way outdated. And I agree with Glottis, L4D is unique and pretty damn awesome.
When has Valve ever disappointed? When they didn't give out the L4D content they "promised"?

Some people actually enjoy a refined multiplayer FPS. It just gets news like Halo and Goldeneye because lots of shouty people play them and shout about it all the time.

And L4D looks better than most "good looking" games today, that are just low-res post-processing fests.

Good news on dlc and it will be free, i would of like to see some new weapons but its free can't complain, a little too do til LFD2 hopefully in 11/2009

So Imho it's more hardcore than the Death Aboard campaign which also Rock, but great fun, it's still in beta like the DA campaign, but We only noticed some minor bugs with the witch dancing around after she is dead (she can't damage you in this state).
