Is an ATI 4870hd 1gb good enough for fullHD (1920x1080) gaming?
I dont mind if some games wont run with full details, and I mostly play racing and RTS/RPG.
What I have now is a 19" LCD from Dell (not widescreen). Also, I believe the rest of the pc is alright (E8400, 4gb ram, etc.).

I'm thinking about buying a new flat panel, and this LG W2353V is pretty cheap here, is it any good?

# Screen size: 23 inches
# Screen resolution: Other (1920 x 1080)
# Aspect ratio: 16:9
# Brightness: 300 cd/m²
# Contrast ratio: 50000 :1
# Refresh rate: 60 Hz
# Response time: 2 ms
# Viewing angle: 170 ° (horizontal) / 160 ° (vertical)
# Screen surface: Matte / anti-glare

That monitor looks like a Samsung T series, only it's LG and is cheaper... Seems ok with me.

Just did, seems like I'll be alright, thanks!

What about the panel tho, I was wondering if its worth it saving up for an e-IPS, or if this cheap TN will be fine (mostly for web surfing/text and gaming, no movies).

IPS are good monitors when it comes to color, but have considerable input lag which might distract you depending on your sensitivity to such things. Smile

TNs are great for gaming, surfing, even for movies. The main advantage is high digital contrast plus fast response time. Altho it really depends on the manufactor, because I've heard that, for example, Samsung T220 has better panel than T240 and T260...

A 4870 will play games @ 1920x1080 fine. Still a pretty good graphics card imho.
