Heard the keys can be slightly hard to see on the white version in daylight?

Love it, nothing beats its design. I have it updated with the latest software from TD2/TP2 and wouldn't honestly replace it with a TD2/TP2. Smile

Used to use another one, but the cooker stopped development in the middle. This one is great and the new R2 is even better. Smile Make sure you use the recommended Radio as well (but no obligatory). Also, this is for GSM versions.

Edit: I hope you know what you are doing though (HardSPL, bacluping up data, flashing, etc). Smile

Oh, cool. BTW, do flash the roms from the internal storage as opposed to the using the Windows tool. Rename the rom to diamimg.nbh, make sure the phone is properly charged (75% will do) and use vol- & back keys together during boot. Smile

Also, you can use apps like Sprite Backup for backing up data.

Why don't you use pim backup. A lot easyer and don't need to be installed. And as far as i know if the phone isen't charged at certain level it will not change the room.

No no, this has nothing to do about room, during the boot loader (which is also responsible for flashing in the method I posted above), the phone doesn't charge. So you always want to have enough battery to complete a full flash, then a hard reset. Wink

About PIM Backup, it's good, but I have found it a bit unreliable. Sprite seems to be most stable for me. Smile

Provider cant disable it. Why should it? It's for navigation.
And how do you disable a gps chip anyway? Razz

Like difm says, that sounds very unlikely. If you get a cracked GPS software, like iGO, you've got free GPS navigation Smile

same. i'd promised myself to replace it when it dies years ago, thinking the battery would just fade away in a year or two, but no, this thing just powers on like it owns the goddamn world.

I guess here is as good of a place as any other ...

Thinking about getting the HTC Magic (I'm due for a hardware upgrade and this is the best my provider has).

now, 1) any good, and what kind of shit can I get for it (ie apps for free) and 2) what about GPS (again, for free)?
