Game works quite OK with the latest patch but that planned expansion will probably change things a bit as it's stand-alone so now Bohemia Interactive Studios (BIS) will need to support two titles which makes patches and such a bit erratic, or at least that's how I see it, having it work like the ArmA 1 expansion which basically worked as a official modification might perhaps have been a better idea.
Well they really got robbed on the arma1 expansion as you said it worked as a mod so any tom dick or harry could download it and use it without question
Im guessing this is part of the reason why they are making it standalone and prob again with serial and fade protection..
Yup, i've followed arma1, but somehow i thought they've learned their lesson, and i guess they did. They learned that people will still buy their sh*t on shear hope.
And i do bother speaking up and do it quite often too.
As long as people keeps spending their cash, corporations will try to get their piece of the pie. Some with their good stuff and others with their crap.
The savegames gets corrupt i dont know how often...
i haven't seen this happen once
anyone else?
note than every time you add or remove an addon, any savegame WILL get corrupt
also, there's a few shitty addon makers that can't get their shit together to write code that plays nice, so whenever you exit the mission and load a game, that addon will be broken
that HDR addon, sight adjustment, err, some others
there are silenced weapons, and you can apply whatever tactics you prefer on the missions
there's not that much stealthy weapons or action in the main campaign tho
but like all the earlier BIS games, there's sure to be bunches of user made maps and campaigns that implement specop missions that favor stealthy approach
also, realistic ballistics apply, so you have to get fairly close for the silenced weapons to hit and injure
S.S.S. you are thinking in too one-dimensional terms for a game like this. There is an infinite combination of specops style, stealth missions you can create or download if that answers your question. Depth and complexity of gameplay is much greater than what you are picturing it comes as a warning as well as a recommendation.
yes I can see a diff for the better in performance, so its a good start.. dont have mouse lag never did and still dont regardless of the removal of mouse smoothing...
Its a beta, I doubt its classed as a release. Arma devs run the beta's in sep folders so you dont have to touch the original install version of the game, its started by a shortcut that indicates this.. So the answer is you can use it with the steam release im pretty sure of that....
If your concerned you could always read the games main forums on this?
It's unprotected as well so as long as the serial is valid it should work just fine.
(And as above it'll install to a /beta/ folder in the game directory so just run the proper shortcut - might need to re-add launch parameters - and play on as usual.)
wtf, im in Manhattan mission, and until now i only meet maybe 10 enemies...and have around 10hrs of gameplay...is this a bug or???? that's impossible that there is no enemies in this game...i only travel from one location to another to meet some commander who says u to go to another location...in this mission i have some air support, but for what..to kill 2 ppl lol...i have v1.03
Gigabyte X570 Aorus Pro | AMD Ryzen 5800X3D + be quiet! Dark Rock 4 | KFA2 RTX 4080 | 32GB G.Skill Trident Z RGB DDR4 @3600MHz | Samsung 860 Evo 500GB + 1TB + 10TB WD Blue | Corsair RM750x | LG 27GL83A + LG 27GL850 | Fractal Define R6 | Razer BlackWidow Ultimate Stealth | DeathAdder Chroma
They sure have fixed a ton of bugs in the campaign,in fact I'm also seeing some very different options in some of the campaign missions now which is very good.
I had to format my disk but i kept the gamefiles. Maybe somebody can copy and paste here what is inside the regfile of the game without the key of course. i've windows 7 running now, so i can try out this beta patch

Somewhat of a minor update but the beta patch build (Mentioned a few posts up.) has been updated again, can enable or disable mouse smoothing and killing enemies with their own stolen vehicles no longer flags it as friendly fire.
