Kingdom Under Fire II

  • Official web page: LINK
  • Publisher: TBA
  • Developer: Phantagram
  • Genre: Strategy/RPG like stuff
  • Release date: TBA 2009
  • Story/Description:
    Quote:

As a true heir to the Kingdom Under Fire series, Kingdom Under Fire II carries on the original spirit of game play which was unique to the series. The two predecessors, Kingdom Under Fire: the Crusaders and Kingdom Under Fire: Heroes were highly praised for having pioneered a brand new genre by creating a perfect hybrid of Action and RTS.

In addition to bringing much improvement to the already innovative game mechanics of Action RTS, Kingdom Under Fire II redefines the series as it introduces the brand new Multiplayer Online Mode, allowing thousands of players to warp into a Massively Multiplayer Online World and pit their skills against other human opponents first-handedly or strategically. In this online mode, you can manage a set of territories as a guild master or declare a war on opposing factions as being a great conqueror. Or should you choose to work as a lone wolf, you can offer to lend your battle expertise as a mercenary to the highest bidder. The online multiplayer also offers a variety of battle modes, so players will be able to find their cup of tea to quench their thirst for epic scale battles.

Kingdom Under Fire II features single player campaigns as well. The game will put the players in the shoes of many of the heroes of Bersia, both new and familiar, and immerse them in the Kingdom Under Fire universe as it continues the main story. On top of the campaign mode, additional single player missions will be available as downloadable contents.

I couldn't help it, mate. The game was BAD ... but at the same time, I really enjoyed it! I like mindless hack'n'slash titles - and the feeling of slaughter that game conveyed was awesome! Being able to swing my dual-swords and cut down 15-20 enemies in one hit? Niiiiiiice!

ya I could see that as a reason to like it, I mean it was always fun playing as gerald and doing his shoulder ram sword slash move and mowing down people, but the game took out the whole RTS aspect that gave it it's name

Why's it called Kingdom Under Fire anyway? Are there guns? Might as well call it Commando Knights. Same anachronism in terms.

I'm just a sucker for hack'n'slash RPGs with loads of items and customisation. Games like Titan Quest, Loki, Diablo, Record of Lodoss War, Hellgate London, Space Siege ... I love 'em all! ^_^

I must admit though, I've never played the original RTS Kingdom Under Fire. Embarassed

it was hard as a mother fucker, I think it was the unbalanced units and the computer cheats like fuck, human units cost a lot so you can't get as many so the computer builds up an army of orc units and demolishes you, vice versa you can build up an army of orcs but the humans are more powerful and the comptuer will whipe you out with a few humans, it never made sense to me.

I remember the original Kingdom Under Fire. Both the RPG and RTS aspects were quite primitive. It's a shame that the other games in the series never reached the PC.

I've still got a copy. Loved it..one of the first RTS to include unit leveling.
I always made a wall and leveled up some soldiers. Worked well.

I always hope they'll make another RTS again, but its Korea. Its hard to compete with starcraft the RTS market here is pretty empty.

This game will be amazing I just know it. The only limitation of the originals was the power of the original Xbox, and yet they still managed to eke out an amazing performance from the system.

Can't wait!

if they are going back to their roots it's not so much an RPG, you get a map like on puzzle quest, and you "travel" to different spots where battles take place, in between battles, with teh amount of gold and XP you racked up during battles n shit, you can buy new armor and weapons for your army making them more durable and dangerous.

to get a semi idea of what it'll be like, grab the game warhammer mark of chaos, but you'll be more 3rd person than isometric so you'll be down in the battle gettin dirty, and you control the captain, so while in huge epic battles, everyone is fighting and doing damage, but you'll kill by the handfulls, it truley is an epic feeling during the battles. IF you have an xbox, GET THEM.
