I think we Eastern Europeans get the best version of them all. That is the uncut version. As far as i know everything goes here. There is only the matter that its is hard to get hold of games because there are so few stores, the prices are almost 2 times higher than in Western Europe and even if we want to buy from other countires for cheaper price than most stores dont send the goods to East Europe. See there is always a catch....

This will increase piracy as far as I'm concerned, who the fuck are they fooling, a simple cd-key to get connected to battle net is 100% piracy proof.

OMG this is just complete CRAP. If this is true and it comes from official source then Blizzard has taken the corporate money hungry road. I thought i will be buying D3 and SC2 for sure but if i have to pay for those games to play in MP monthly as well as i am doing with WoW now then FU indeed. MMOs are understandable but RTS and RPG games. COMON! Blizzard for me was special for not being complete fucks like almost every game company out there is. First Valve now Blizzard. Tis a truly sad year for gamers.

That'll be a combination of WoW-success and Activision merger. Why give away free MP (either over LAN or B.Net) when you can charge for it .. and your gazillion brain-dead fanboys will STILL pay?

At this point i don't really give a shit. Blizzard decided to go the carebear route by removing PK from DIII so they already have lost me as a customer.
That said this suck for the ppl who planned to get D3 and thought that Battle Net would be free. I can understand that the goal of a company is the maximize profits but WoW + Starcraft II + D3 = HUGE $$$ so they could at least have kept BNet free.

yeah it was said many times by blizzard, basic service was and remains free. But you can pay monthly fee to get some more features (whatever they may be) ...

on blizzcon they say that there is pvp in diablo 3

Exactly, this is just a rumor that was said by, according to the article a "trusted source" but yet gives no mention of a name. In other words it was some random person probably a magazine editor or whatnot that said that.
Battlnet will always remain free of charge cause it would hurt them service wise if they went that route because they know that it would piss off a huge fanbase. The monetary deals for battlenet that they were talking about before will most likely come from advertisers and not the customer base.
I'm not a bad influence, i say the world's already f***** i'm just adding to it.

The only "fees" will be optional features that ultimately won't be needed.
