i rate films on their overall 'epicness' the greatest film i have ever seen is a 9.5/10, which just had EVERYTHING i wanted in a movie in it... a film can be incredibly well made, and a shining example of its genre... a really fucking enjoyable movie, but if its just not as epic as my 9.5 benchmark, then its score suffers... thats just how i rate films... but a 7.5 is still a damn good score in my book..

Memories of murder - 4/10
what a fucking waste of time.. terrible weird/usual Japanese acting combined with a stupid predictable plot.

well, i just think that jap films in general (korean etc too) have terrible acting, i mean i laughed my way through Ringu and the like, guess they just arent my thing.
The plot synopsis sounded interesting, thats why I watched it. But I guess I was spoiled by se7en and the like/

I never watched Memories of Murder, but I have seen quite a few movies with Kang-ho Song, and he is unquestionably among the best and most versatile Korean actors that I have ever experienced, if the average Hollywood actor could act half as well as Kang-ho Song, American cinema could actually be interesting.

Yeh from what I saw he carried the film. The others were just terrible.

most films have shitty terrible acting... do you think the average standard of american films is any better when it comes to acting?

The Kite Runner 8/10
Great movie, followed the book pretty much to the letter. Few parts seem added in that wasn't in the story but didn't take away from it.

inglorious basterds 5/10 mediocre , i was waitin for something more , too much drama for me , need more action in a Q.Tarantino movie.

Inglorious Basterds 8.5/10 , it isnt the usual Tarantino fare and i guess that's why i liked it , even tho it had it's share of badass characters it wasnt all glitz and shit all the time.
kudos for the cast since the non americans that were present most of the film really kept it going .
The Brothers Bloom 8.5/10 , great performances and quirky yet funny script , really original stuff and it outguessed me most of the way , since i was expecting it to be the same shit i saw in most movies , Con's get conned and the ending really surprised me , sure it dragged a little but it fell into place , too bad it shaked it's drama right at the very end not to finish with a downer.
