It's early code based on last year's animations.Waiting for Euphoria announcement, i hope..
I hope that too, but the sensation is that it won't happen this year; if they will simply overhaul all these blocky animations with newer ones it will enough for me. A proper implementation of a new physics engine in a month is a miracle, and I don't believe in miracles..
I've watched several PES 2010 Gamescom footages, and I think that there is still a lot of work to do on the animations side. They're surely better than 2009 version's ones, but not so refined as I wished: running and dribbling animations are definitely too rough and blocky, especially if we compare them to those seen in the FIFA 10 console version from the EA conference.
KONAMI hasn't introduced 360 and other important features yet but, I repeat, it's a huge work since FIFA 10 (console) appears really on another planet.
It's from a blurry cam, but it's clear that Pes isn't changed afterall. It's too fast, too arcade, the ball is frictionless and those animations...my hype is lowered a lot.

Gameplay looks like crap even this is next gen version.
Well..it's not done yet. the 360 degree movement hasn't been implemented, probably new animations either.
Anyway, I don't understand what people see in FIFA's animations, they aren't much better...
Some facts:
- This is early code shown in gamescom. It isn't even a beta demo.
- 360 is not there. It will be on demo and full version.
- Improved animations are there but it's like 20-25% of those.
- Gameplay is good. They need to tone down the pace and i'm sure they'll do it(All the previous years betas and demos had fastest gameplay too and retail was toned down).
I liked what i saw.It is not arcade. The speed makes you think that.It will be improved for sure.

Look at this video for example: FIFA's animations are smooth, correctly jointed and...realisticly slow. The main problem of PES is that it's way too fast in rendering all the trajectory changes, dribblings are at insane speed and animations are overall more unjointed than FIFA's ones.
But, as you said, maybe some of them haven't been implemented yet; anyway my opinion is still there: it all too fast for being a realistic football game.
This is an 80% code, NOT AN EARLY CODE, and they haven't implemented the most important aspects yet? Sounds like an excuse to me, which is usually the deal with Konami.
FIFA 10 is wayyyyyy up ahead in terms of just about everything.

I guess you don't know some things. This is a 20-25% completion as i mentioned above.PES2010 started as a project WITHOUT 360 movement.Seabass said that pes2011 will have 360.When EA announced 360 control there was only one way for the pes team. The animations WITH 360 movement are not finished yet. These 2 must be reworked together.Even if there were 90% new animations now they are completely useless without the 360 control testing and arranging.

I can confirm this, Konami has stated that the GC build is an 80% code.
was reading on a few PES forums which stated 2010 will include 360 dribbling like Fifa (although it is only implemented on the PS3's DS3.. due to technical restrictions supposedly), as well as authentic motion capture from Barca's Lionel Messi.
All the haters that think PES animation is shit... you now know who to blame!.
The good news is that the game finally seems slightly slower, maybe still too much fast for my taste, but it's definitely better. 360 looks good, and since it's in a wip developement stage we could expect some improvements on movements and players collisions.
The bad news is that the animation system (though surely improved from the 2009 version) is still far from perfect, some old heritages contribute to worsen the visual realism (90deg dribblings, running and long pass animations etc.)
Anyway, comparing this PES 2010 build to the FIFA 10 PC one, well, judge for yourself:
How often do you play pes09? And when was the last time you played it? I'm playing it on a daily basis and this gameplay looks alot more interesting then pes09. But I really need to play pes 6 again. I really miss it's gameplay

I uninstalled Pes09 months ago, but I have pes6 installed on my laptop and it still owns pes09 badly in terms of gameplay and fun
