Incorporating silly internet memes into game trailers is a recipe for disaster.
Well, first and foremost it shows memes are going somewhat mainstream, and idiot marketing personnel are trying to appear cool and hip by trying to use them. But also, it shows how little knowledge (or lack there of) they actually have, to make the memes work.

That's exactly it! It's like what you see in movies and on TV, where the aging parent tries to look cool in front of his kids by mimicking their slang.

It's true as well! I love some internet memes, they're pretty funny for the most part, but trying to incorporate them into games - in a failed effort to shift more copies by appealing to the internet masses ... welll... it just didn't work for me.
Hopefully the bloody trailer comes back up, so you can all see and judge for yourselves.
Well, maybe it's just us. Maybe some 12 yo kid, that thinks 4chan is gods greatest gift to mankind would see this and go "omgzomg must have omnomnom" (in true 4chan fashion of posting pics of himself drooling ).
People are mindless lab rats and will say anything they don't understand rulz because they are afraid to admit they don't "get it"
Like a blonde laughing at a joke.
Off Topic: No offense Leo but if that's you in your future of gaming vid; You and Robin Williams need to get together and shave each other.

Damn Leo, even my missus was just laughing at that vid you made Especially when I explained about the whole "Easy Mode!!1 Now those of you with low IQs can play too!!" bullshit game. The FPS segment gets me every time, matey.. hehe.
Kinda reminds me of that other bullshit game coming up, yanno the one with the Magic Button?
"So you want to run round the corner, dolphin-dive and spin 180 degrees in order to shoot your pursuer in the head!? You can with the Magic Button! The Magic Button is context sensitive and reads your gaming ineptitude directly - just by analysing the fucked up way you hold the controller with the claw you call a hand! Just press the Magic Button and the game will practically win itself for you! Revolutionary NEXT GEN!"
You know, the funniest part about that magic-button game is, Deelix asked what I think the future of gaming is, and I said I wouldn't be surprised if in the future games would offer smart buttons that would do the game for you. Lo and fucking behold, less than a week later, we see that announcement where they have the "smart" button! It just killed me!
SMART button! That's the one. Pfeh. The whole idea stinks, if you ask me :-\
.....oops, and before I get banhammered for off-topic chat; I actually enjoyed the idea of Section 8, when I played the beta, so - considering it's free (thanks Usenet and thanks Microsoft!) I'll nab the retail when it comes out
