keddl wrote: | Hey all. Just wanted to let you all know that at around 60% there seems to be a even more game breaking issue than the grappling:
Spoiler: | After you have gotten the antidote for the titan virus you are on your way back to Ivy to "Stop her from destroying the island". Now as I get closer to the gardens I notice that all these hostile plants are gone..or seem gone. No sign of big roots either even though they were all over when I last left the area.
So I enter the botanic gardens and the way seems open but the roots that were supposed to block my way are actually doing so, but they are invisible. So I work my way through the level dodging invisible roots and end up outside Ivy's door. Opening this door throws you into an empty world and batman falls in all eternity =)
|
Now I've gotten past the grappling by using the gravity trick a couple of times, but now I will put down this game for now like many others and send a word of warning to the rest |
damn... you were right after all... it's just that you skipped a step after acquiring the titan antidote(mainly the section where you disrupt the waterflow) that i thought you weren't at the right spot.
anyways after getting back out and into the botanical gardens once you enter ivy's door the game gives you a nice big "fuck you" and sends you into a dark void.
so damn sad >_>.

I'm really glad I saved GTA IV for a better PC.
I'm playing it for the first time and it it's the only thing that's keeping me from playing this buggy Batman version.
If it wasn't for it, I'm sure I woud be one with Batman, even with the bugs.

oh btw... the dark void is basically right at the end and there's pretty much no workaround since it's the final boss battles we're talking about.

Yeah, I found this door to the pump room too on my quest looking for Riddler Trophies on my way to Ivy too =P
Spoiler: |
Actually, I started thinking maybe since I went there and destroyed some control boxes and stuff maybe the game was affected like that. Because Joker did send one of his titan soldiers and a host of henchmen after me on my way out.
Maybe we're not supposed to do that until after visiting Ivy and she tells to to do it so that her plants doesn't get more toxic water or something? (Since if you go into detective mode the water lines themselves say they have titan in them) . Unfortunately theres no way to backtrack to an earlier save because of this checkpoint system so it's not possible to check if the game reacts the same way if you go straight to Ivy without "finding" this pumping station. For all we know it could be a real game bug if this is the case, I don't know... |

after reading your first post i kept a couple of backup saves just in case i would enter a room i wouldn't be able to reset my way out of.
anyways i reloaded a save before going to the pump room and went straight to botanical gardens... sad to say that the exact same crap happens.
there really is no way to get around it at this point.

Like i said, you can just restart the game, and resume from the last save, and you can play further.

No body has proof of anything, it's all speculations. The only solid thing is that the leaked version has limited installations and online activation. Other than that, nobody official has commented on what will exactly be on the shipping DVD.
