The Dark Knight - 7/10

Well, I finally bit the bullet and watched it with my GF tonight. She enjoyed it and well, I was pleasantly surprised at most. Pleasantly surprised yet still 7/10? WTF Kaeye you ask?

Well, It gets this high mark for the following things : Acting, cinematography, atmosphere and Maggie Gylenhaal's sweet self.

The batman and superhero stuff was still kinda lame as was the first film, but this film was more adult and had more of a believable story so I enjoyed it more. Heath ledger played the joker very eerily, but wasnt the best part imo.

Id say worth a watch if you have a reason to do so, but in all honest I probably wont watch it again.

Ronhrim already fell for the same thing, now it's the same with watergem. Cool Face

Good Luck Chuck - 8.5/10. Thought most of it was hilarious. I noticed that I tend to give relatively high ratings to pretty everything I watch. Guess Im not very uptight when it comes to enjoying a movie

Laughing is that the one with nicole kidman?

I quite enjoyed that one, was definitely shit but at least entertaining. If I remember right, Linda Bergkvist did the concept art work for that movie and that was why I watched it.

It always amazes me that a film can have so much budget, so much time and effort, so much wasted. Dont the directors sit back and watch the final thing and think *hey, this is fucking shit, we wasted our time, lets change this* before they release it? Laughing

this movie was so stupid I stopped watching after ~30-45 minutes. And I don't know how I was able to watch it for so long time!

I mean that damn icebear took off his armor to fly faster yeah? And after he landed he suddenly had his armor on again. Did he deposit it in his icebear ass or what?

Shocked

Damn, that was a great movie. The best movie I have seen this year and I'm not seeing any other being able to come close. IMO everything was top notch: the acting(the protagonist carried much of the film on his shoulders), the story and some really impressive CGI.

Also, was I the only one that

District 9 - 4/5

Nice flick though abit overhyped. At times it felt more like a standard b-sci fi with lots of gore. Was a bit annoying with all the yelling and the frenetic tempo of the movie aswell.
Still it'll be interesting to see the sequal...

The New World (2005, Extended Cut) [720p] - 9 / 10

One of the most visually stunning movies I have seen in a long time. The movie is very slow paced, a lot of panoramic shots with ambient sounds, constant poetic interludes - a wonderful esoteric experience.

District 9 8/10.

Just finished watching and I must say I was expecting a better movie but overall I enjoyed it. It had a touch of originality that no other movie I have seen had. There are some plot holes and shitload of questions but I guess they will have enough time to shoot prequels and sequels.

District 9 - 8.5/10

Very good movie and an original one at that. Great fx, awesome aliens (especially the way they speak), decent plot, great main character and i like the humour in the movie. I only wish the aliens were a bit more "researched" (where do they come from, why did they come and what are they trying to accomplish) - there was very little pressure put on the origins and the future of aliens.

The Soviet Story - 8/10

No surprises except the scale of Nazi-Soviet co-operation. Sad A must-see for fools who believe that the Soviet Union 'helped' the allies in winning the war.

So true. Had it not been for the USSR, the war would have ended in a much different manner (in Europe at least).

You're probably one of those 'nationalistic' people who are not only in denial of the past but the present as well. The same kind of xenophobic bullshit is rampant in today's russia but the rest of the world doesn't give a damn because they're not going to confront the country over its policies. They didn't do it in the past when millions were being exterminated so it's pretty much out of the question in this time period.

I don't see anyone denying their contribution to the war effort in terms of dealing a crucial blow to Hitler's forces. But it is the main focus of that war effort. Just like in Denmark we are counted among the allies and the focus is on our resistance movement and our occupance by Germany, it isn't talked about that for the first three years of the war we had a government that openly collaborated with Germany. The fact that we turned in 43 was crucial to our status in the aftermath of the war.
