Is there anything that stands out gameplay wise between HON and LOL?
The persistent stuff maybe?
Trying to decide which one I want to drop money on.
Would like to try LOL as well. But, haven't gotten the chance yet.

The reason I find this better than LoL is variety. LoL just doesn't offer what DoTA and HoN offer in terms of items and heroes. I also prefer the gameplay in HoN (and I was addicted to LoL for a couple weeks).
It's definitely a preference. I think DoTA is basically the most balanced and perfect game you can play, and HoN is as much DoTA as DoTA is.
