to anyone that has played it what types of racing is there , IE: drift, drag ...thanks in advance......

@ options, HUD.
Game feels good so far, just finished the 3rd race.
Light collisions/scratches with other cars sometimes feel buggy, anyone else noticed this?
Happened 2 times, but dont know how to explain it exactly.
Im off racing some more, !

and i thought in prostreet drifting was bad
overall it feels mediocre with bad gfx and horrid handling, now where is forza 3

Handling isnt top notch, but not bad.
but we atleast got some decent sensitivity options. these might help!
Cockpit view is nice, and for some reason i can barely drive with the 3rd person camera.
And the Blur effect @ high speeds is insane, it looks awful.

well, we must be playing different games, because it looks beautiful on my TV. The blur effect when speeding from cockpit view works really well. i am enjoying this and I'm no NFS fanboy

The stupidity of this forum is absolutely amazing. How can one say DIRT 2 is better when the games are no where near comparable. Members need to take a common sense test during registration.

I'm sorry but how do you know that? Did you play Forza3 or are you comparing to Forza2? Yes Shift is much better than most of previous NFS games, but better than Forza3? Please... When Forza3 is out everyone will forget Shift's existence. I just don't see Shift having as much depth as Forza3 and you will never convince me over wise. Shift = play for a few weeks and that's it. Forza3 = play for months or even years to come.

its not a bad game but sure as hell not going to be better then Forza 3 or GRID 2.
Damage model is terrible also, and it gets boring way to fast.
Though nice attempt, up to the next attempt with the guys from Burnout.

Man the stupidity continues. How is this being compared to Forza 3 which not only hasn't even been released but is a different style racer. Secondly this is nothing at all like Pro Street which was Fast n Furious meets underground circuit racing AKA: washed up NFS series at the time.
And the guy above is comparing it to Burnout. This thread is making us all dumber.
Or maybe EA did a bad job marketing it because people just don't seem to understand.
Edit: Once I get a chance to play it I'm going to provide a proper post indicating what is good and bad rather then the bullshit "better than, worse than" we've gotten so far. Maybe it can save some people from wasting a DVD or encourage others to give it a try.

Racing definitly feels good its a big step upwards.
Good sense of speed, nice sounds, nice Graphics (mayb too much blur)
and the handling aint bad either. (it still got some flaws from pro street though)
sensitivity & deadzones options are included, I suggest u tweak em right away especially steering.
I play with all assists off, exept ABS.
Aight that it for racing, now we get the drift part.
This it totally messed up just like pro steet.
Cars suddenly behave different in drift mode,
Steering is very heavy, and feels like ur driving on ice.
I only tested this with 2 cars, but it pissed me off already.
Ooh yeah, u need to play this game with cockpit view only. Trust me!

Yes, because driving in cockpit view, on Nürnburgring, competing against other cars, folowing a colored line is something you would never do in forza 3. 
I can see why you think comparing this to dirt 2 is stupid. But it does have simliar tracks, cars, views, racestyles, helplines, etc like forza and with that game around the corner it´s pretty hard not to compare the two games.

Then again Forza3 is not out yet so any comparison is pretty much meaningless.
