I have the Colin Mcrae rally 2005 Ultima release, for some reason I uninstalled it and reinstalled it. Now whenever I start the game, it will go to a black screen for about 5 seconds, and jump back to desktop with a minimized dos window labeled "protection error" and then this minimized window dissapears. I uninstalled and reinstalled the game several times... still with the same protection error.
So I installed the game on my win2k OS and it works fine, but I really need to make this one work on my XP. I figured that it maybe the starforce hidden drivers....
Any suggestions?

Allthough this was meant for "Emergency Fire Response" it might work for CM really 2005 too.
If it doesn't try to search google for Starforce clean or something like that, or even try the official forums.

Here, I wrote a little troubleshooting guide about CMR05. If SFClean doesn't help I guess this is the fix for your problem:

This is happening if you have certain versions of Ahead Nero installed.
You can try to install newest version of Nero.
Or try using NOVIDEO as argument in shortcut.
If that does not work, use RadLight Filter Manager, goto "DirectShow filters" and UNREGISTER "Nero Video Decoder".
