I'm playing with 9.9, fxd my resolution problem.

Missions in this game suck, like 'bring the car to the safehouse', the guy makes a comment "Hey I found this car and the green light is blinking very fast" Laughing and for some reason you have very little time to get there, like every time I do manage to do it there is 1 second left!

Win7 x64 7600 , e6750 at 3.2ghz, 8gb 1066, Ati 4870 1gb 9.9 Catalyst

Lots of stuttering, random freezes out of nowhere, slowdowns to 2 fps on menus, 10ish fps with heavy physics. Rolled back to 9.8 hotfix, and it seemed to improve a bit, but the sluggish performance while tearing down buildings is just game breaking.

Dual cores are not enough, at least on Win7. I was getting 80ish% cpu just running ingame, but the moment you break something, it spikes to 100% and game crawls to a stop.

Guess it's time to upgrade to those sweet phenom 955 Smile

Same with me, on everything you described. *sigh* I guess it really does need a quad Sad

Nope, you don't need quad core, check my specs. They are similar but I have nvidia. Game doesn't slow down to 10fps, worst I saw was like 20, but that's very minimum. Usually it's around 30-40fps when blowing up stuff and 40-70 when driving around.

As I said lots of posts ago, I'm running it at steady 40fps (with occasional drops to 30fps during heavy destructions) with an e6600@3ghz, 2gb ram and a 4870 1gb (cat.9.8 standard) with no hiccups or stuttering at all. Everything is set to high (res. 1600*1200) and no AA, in dx9 (winXP, lol).
The game looks great even without AA or dx10 effects (surely better than the 360 version), so I'm quite satisfied.

Dual cores ARE enough

[socket 939 amd x2 4400+, 4GB DDR1 (ya thats right), 8800GT Superclock]

The game is fullspeed when doing whatever, driving slows down a tidbit and about 20-30 when causing total mayhem, maxed AA with some other settings turned down.

I also play at 1440x900 which isn't as extreme as some of your guys fuckin 50" fuckin monitors you always seem to be able to afford lol

Windows 7 x64 here, no problems with the game, although to me it runs well whereas it might just be speed up based on other posts, doesn't feel like that though I do run between sectorrs as I find it easier and it doesn't take much time either due to the small game area.
(There's a lot of stuff I want to explore like various craters and the bottom of parker zone but there's a invisible wall/fence around several places, seen a bit like a antenna with a red lamp on it, kinda guess that's how the devs defined the game borders.)

How do you destroy that building with indestructible girders on the last map, I have 2x thermobilic rocker, 5x nano rifle and 3 ammo crates with ammo for the rifle, and a hammer, the thing won't collapse.

Okay you have to bring the crown down right, but there are still some girders left and it won't register the building as demolished even do it is, last one:

Not sure if this is posted already but to enable SLI do this...

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK yeah!!

Sorry to revel in your misfortune mate, but that means it's a game issue and not a crack one - so patches ahoy! Very Happy

(hopefully, at least. Volition took their sweet-ass time fixing the broken mess that was SR2 - and it still isn't completely fixed)

Don't worry, it's buggy so they have to patch it.

Mine runs too fast lol, I loaded it up a while ago to show it to a friend and we laughed our asses off, it has that comedic speedup, ya know ? Laughing

^Yes, like old D3D games. Oh well, I'll play the first two red factions while waiting for a patch. But I guess this just goes to show how legit customers get more fucked in the ass than pirates these days =/

Volition had nothing to do with the PC version of SR2, or the efforts to fix it. The PC version was handled by a team at CD Projekt.

The PC version of RFG was handled by Reactor Zero, so, we can't base expectations for what they will do, based on what CD Projekt did.

Wow, do you read into everything like that? Someone's got some unresolved issues....

I get frame-dips too, although I haven't been able to play far enough to collapse the really big structures - with the speed-bug and all. Hopefully Volition (or in this case Reactor Zero) get their head out of their ass soon. The Volition support guy at the official forums seems to genuinely care, but then again, PR people are experts at masquerading and bullshitting.
