I think it's a codec problem. (After the loading screen, there are videos)
Ylou could try to rename them to disable them, lol.

Or just forget about any type of gamepad and grab a Logitech Driving Force GT for 100$. I GUARANTEE you'll get tons of enjoyment for those 100 bucks

Well, at "Casual" settings, with all assists on high, it's pretty much enough to hold the gas pressed and pressing left or right when you reach the corners lol (not even needed to brake, as the game brakes for you ), so why not?

Bink (aka .bik video files) never has problems with codecs, so it's not that.

Is it just me, or is the background music in the menus really distorted sounding? Racing sounds fine and voices are all crystal clear but that industrial music shit is loud and crackly sometimes.

After all the thrashing against ATI + NFS:S I thought I'd check it out to see what the deal was...
Win7 Ultimate x64, Cat 9.9's, 4890 1GB, C2D E8200 @ 3.6Ghz, 4GB RAM
1680x1050, most stuff maxed out, 2xAA or 4xAA (can't remember), 16xAF
Not a single glitch so far. It's bitching difficult to drive with the keyboard but I suppose it's tweakable. Consistently 40-60FPS. Perhaps I'm just lucky for some reason.

Are the cars you unlock by levelling up multiplayer only or something? Says I won one but it's not in the garage.

@Immunity: Maybe the game says buttons, however it automatically detects X360 acceleration and brake triggers as analog pressure sensitive triggers. I know, I wouldn't have finished many races if they were on/off. They are pressure sensitive, leave it at Preset 1.
The only thing I changed was on the Adjust Control screen, lowering the steering dead-zone from 33% to 12%. That should be enough to correct any centering errors the X axis has, but also give you early steering so that you can steer a little at a time at high-speed or while making adjustments.
Has anyone gone lower than 12 % on X360's steering dead-zone without centering errors?

And no need for x360 emulator, it supports other gamepads, too, unlike other shitty games *cough* *cough* |
I like plug'n'play and using the emulator means no messing about with buttons or mappings, it's all done - right there and then - no messing.

Hi,
I downloaded the xbox 360 emulator for logitech dual action, and the steering is fine, but now I can't remap anything, and since I don't have analog rear buttons, it's just stop or go now.
Do you know a solution to this?
Edit: Nevermind, I deleted the files, then reconfigured, then put the emulator files back in.

Try this:
Start a quick race with 15 opponents and wait until all are in front. Post screenshot of fps or I call bullshit - ain't no one else lucky, everyone has fps problems.

Do you have DPI scaling active on Vista or W7? I had the same problem with the screen staying black after the progress bar until i excluded shift.exe from dpi scaling.
