I think it's a codec problem. (After the loading screen, there are videos)

Ylou could try to rename them to disable them, lol.

Well, at "Casual" settings, with all assists on high, it's pretty much enough to hold the gas pressed and pressing left or right when you reach the corners lol (not even needed to brake, as the game brakes for you Laughing), so why not?

Actually, after the orange filling bar is the language selection, even before the videos do you get to that ?

P.S.: I managed to shave off some times getting into the game by renaming the intros (Franchise_Ident.bik and Attract.bik) and also disabling the EA--crap autologin from the options Very Happy Finally.

Bink (aka .bik video files) never has problems with codecs, so it's not that.

@ digitalhex
Go to the options, somewhere there are options for logging in and there is an option autologin on/off

@ richardfun
Then it crashes at the end of the loading, before the language selection, so who knows what the problem is ... try to make sure all drivers are updated, disable your antivirus, unplug all controllers, usual shiznit, who knows really ... Sad Or wait for a patch.

Is it just me, or is the background music in the menus really distorted sounding? Racing sounds fine and voices are all crystal clear but that industrial music shit is loud and crackly sometimes.

After all the thrashing against ATI + NFS:S I thought I'd check it out to see what the deal was...

Win7 Ultimate x64, Cat 9.9's, 4890 1GB, C2D E8200 @ 3.6Ghz, 4GB RAM
1680x1050, most stuff maxed out, 2xAA or 4xAA (can't remember), 16xAF

Not a single glitch so far. It's bitching difficult to drive with the keyboard but I suppose it's tweakable. Consistently 40-60FPS. Perhaps I'm just lucky for some reason.

@Immunity: Maybe the game says buttons, however it automatically detects X360 acceleration and brake triggers as analog pressure sensitive triggers. I know, I wouldn't have finished many races if they were on/off. They are pressure sensitive, leave it at Preset 1.

The only thing I changed was on the Adjust Control screen, lowering the steering dead-zone from 33% to 12%. That should be enough to correct any centering errors the X axis has, but also give you early steering so that you can steer a little at a time at high-speed or while making adjustments.

Has anyone gone lower than 12 % on X360's steering dead-zone without centering errors?

Have the same pad and you need original drivers for it to work.

I like plug'n'play and using the emulator means no messing about with buttons or mappings, it's all done - right there and then - no messing.

<3

Hi,

I downloaded the xbox 360 emulator for logitech dual action, and the steering is fine, but now I can't remap anything, and since I don't have analog rear buttons, it's just stop or go now.
Do you know a solution to this?

Edit: Nevermind, I deleted the files, then reconfigured, then put the emulator files back in.

I drove the driver evaluation with keyboard and it came out with experienced. Seemed fine and felt good with stock keyboard settings.

Now I'm with hard AI/wheel/pro/without helps, except low traction control. Seemed almost too easy on the first tier races (was without traction control then). Then I tried the Honda S2000 event, #&%?! that car is a biatch, likes to show it's rear to ever spectator on the track. Spinned a lot and wasn't even close to top Razz

Anyhow, I'm with these sensitivity settings currently (higher dead zone for acceleration is because my wheel (old) pedal calibrates a bit off). Feels great except a bit twitchy with speed. Is it lower or higher from that 50% to get it less sensitive Question

Regarding you in-game screenshot, how the hell can your car look like that ? My car with every setting on high, AF, 1680x1050 looks like crap :

My shot is with 1680x1050 high, AF, 2xAA. Either you don't have AA or it isn't working, but mostly it because of the low ress decals. I'm thinking of not using them, unless works tuning does it automatically.

They made PC version good, except forgot/got lazy with no high resolution stickers Smile

Do you have DPI scaling active on Vista or W7? I had the same problem with the screen staying black after the progress bar until i excluded shift.exe from dpi scaling.
