But I have to set the keys, there is no default xbox controller keybinding.
And the stick isn't working in the menu screens.
Is this normal?
Am I overlooking something?
What is the keybinding for the controller in this game? |
Go to options and set controller there. Manu navigation is usually done with a Dpad and not analog sticks btw.

thats a rediculous thing to say when they coincide with the latest games around that tend to favor them.
and they dont drop price anyhow much ,,,, not till like 2 years later with nvidia, gaytastic..
If ati with good cards they make "now" can release for a fair price so can nvidia, the diff is they dont want to cause they know 70% of the public or more will cough up the readys....

Partially ATI's fault.
ATI refused to support PhysX because Nvidia wanted them to use CUDA to add that support in, instead of either OpenCL or even their own stream API.

there has to be differences, otherwise we would get really shafted from cards being generally the fucking same, and them going well now we will just hoink the prices cause there isnt really much they can do as they will need one of them brands anyhow...
Not to mention the cross cash passing buisness to do with cuda licencing and all that.. we would suffer even more for choice/price bargains..
sod the bastards, they need to be knocked down a peg or two somehow is how i see it..

Perhaps for a patch if they release one implementing a particle quality or debris quality option or similar would help, less debris and particles when destroying objects would let up on the CPU usage wouldn't it?
(Especially if there's less debris as that means less work for the physics engine and thus CPU.)

This.
Either that, or an option to disable particles/dust *completely* as the loss only seems to occur during heavy dust/smoke/particles effects.

I don't know if this has already been suggested/posted, but using the speedhack in CheatEngine on the game process fixed the speed-up issue for me. I set it to 0,75 (experiment with it to see what works best for you) and the game ran at normal speed.
For those not familiar with CheatEngine:
1) Download and run the program (Google it to find it).
2) You will see a flashing icon in the upper left corner of the window, click it.
3) This will open up a new window, in which you select the process you want to 'hack'. In this case "rfg.exe".
4) Back in the main window, check the 'Enable Speedhack' box, and enter a desired value (or use the guage thingy)
5) Click 'Apply' and switch back to the game, which will hopefully run normally.
I'm using this until a patch possibly addressing this issue comes out.

As long as I uninstall this shit before I run any Punkbuster enabled games I'll be in the clear right? The reason I ask is because I have the PB background processes running in the background as well - they don't have any sort of "logging" ability do they?
Actually, fuck it. I'll just send my bill to Volition should any of my shit be banned

Having it installed is fine, don't have it running, while playing punkbuster games though !
(and don't enable any weird "stealth" mode in cheat engine and shit like that)

I've read it does a periodical check through all running processes. I don't do multiplayer games, so I'm not sure.

Just FYI, REPLiCORE's "solution" to the speed bug does indeed work. The cheat engine is free of malware and does what it claims, making the game playable until the devs get their heads out of their asses and patch it.
It's not the ideal solution granted, but it's better than having to wait a few more months or go through the hassle of dual booting.
