I just bought an Xbox360 controller and wanted to test it on this game.
But I have to set the keys, there is no default xbox controller keybinding.
And the stick isn't working in the menu screens.
Is this normal?
Am I overlooking something?
What is the keybinding for the controller in this game?

Go to options and set controller there. Manu navigation is usually done with a Dpad and not analog sticks btw.

Sabin just so you know as of any version more recent than PhysX 8.09.04 you need a NVIDIA GPU as the primary display or it won't initialize the PPU, afterwards people got NVIDIA GPU's and ran them as secondary to the ATI GPU but as of Forceware 186 that won't work either and newer games might even require 186 drivers to perform optimally (Or drivers more recent like the 190 series.) plus PhysX support now requires version 9.x something in order to function on the recent cards plus development of SDK version 2.8.3 will be dropping PPU support completely. (Part of it already available in latest PhysX redist.) Smile

I know all that mate, which is one of the primary reasons for my vitriol towards nVidia of late -- but my post was originally aimed towards the Ageia PhysX PPU -- which nVidia's newest v9 software specifically states it supports, so I was figuring that those with Ageia cards could now use them for the latest games.

Which is what I said or perhaps what I was trying to say unless I misunderstood or was misunderstood, sorry about that, any version of PhysX supports the AGEIA PPU but it needs a NVIDIA card and won't work with ATI hardware after version 8.09.04 and later titles require version 9.x in order to function. Smile
(Kinda redundant hardware now however with the GT serie more than capapble of handling games plus PhysX on it's own although at a performance hit depending on the intensity of the effects used.)

Ahhhh, now I understand! Sorry mate, because you said nVidia PhysX I thought you meant the PhysX implementation on nVidia cards >_<

So now they've even blocked the Ageia card if you're running an ATi primary? Goddamn.. that's just fucking criminal Sad

If MS locked Windows so that it could only use IE, there would be a shit-storm the likes of which the software industry has never seen ... yet nVidia are free to do whatever they want. Awesome.

It's funny that only ATI users say that Cool Face

But I know what you mean. Though after I had a Radeon (I think it was oooold 9800, back then it was new) and when I had to (literally) change drivers everytime I wanted to play a different game I said "screw it", sold the card on ebay for 90 bucks and got myself a GeForce. Been Nvidia buyer only since then.

thats a rediculous thing to say when they coincide with the latest games around that tend to favor them.

and they dont drop price anyhow much ,,,, not till like 2 years later with nvidia, gaytastic..

If ati with good cards they make "now" can release for a fair price so can nvidia, the diff is they dont want to cause they know 70% of the public or more will cough up the readys....

Partially ATI's fault.

ATI refused to support PhysX because Nvidia wanted them to use CUDA to add that support in, instead of either OpenCL or even their own stream API.

there has to be differences, otherwise we would get really shafted from cards being generally the fucking same, and them going well now we will just hoink the prices cause there isnt really much they can do as they will need one of them brands anyhow...

Not to mention the cross cash passing buisness to do with cuda licencing and all that.. we would suffer even more for choice/price bargains..

sod the bastards, they need to be knocked down a peg or two somehow is how i see it..

Perhaps for a patch if they release one implementing a particle quality or debris quality option or similar would help, less debris and particles when destroying objects would let up on the CPU usage wouldn't it?
(Especially if there's less debris as that means less work for the physics engine and thus CPU.)

This.

Either that, or an option to disable particles/dust *completely* as the loss only seems to occur during heavy dust/smoke/particles effects.

I don't know if this has already been suggested/posted, but using the speedhack in CheatEngine on the game process fixed the speed-up issue for me. I set it to 0,75 (experiment with it to see what works best for you) and the game ran at normal speed.

For those not familiar with CheatEngine:

1) Download and run the program (Google it to find it).

2) You will see a flashing icon in the upper left corner of the window, click it.

3) This will open up a new window, in which you select the process you want to 'hack'. In this case "rfg.exe".

4) Back in the main window, check the 'Enable Speedhack' box, and enter a desired value (or use the guage thingy)

5) Click 'Apply' and switch back to the game, which will hopefully run normally.

I'm using this until a patch possibly addressing this issue comes out.

Nothing extremely exciting, apart from some sunshafts and a higher resolution, the only difference I see is brightness Laughing

As long as I uninstall this shit before I run any Punkbuster enabled games I'll be in the clear right? The reason I ask is because I have the PB background processes running in the background as well - they don't have any sort of "logging" ability do they?

Actually, fuck it. I'll just send my bill to Volition should any of my shit be banned Very Happy

Having it installed is fine, don't have it running, while playing punkbuster games though !

(and don't enable any weird "stealth" mode in cheat engine and shit like that)

I've read it does a periodical check through all running processes. I don't do multiplayer games, so I'm not sure.

Just FYI, REPLiCORE's "solution" to the speed bug does indeed work. The cheat engine is free of malware and does what it claims, making the game playable until the devs get their heads out of their asses and patch it.

It's not the ideal solution granted, but it's better than having to wait a few more months or go through the hassle of dual booting.
