I'm amazed at how stupid you people bitching are. Nvidia isn't forcing you to do anything. If you don't want to use their cards - Then don't use them. As you allready claim - The PhysX effects 'add nothing', so why in the fuck do you give a shit? Maybe you do actually care? Either way, shut the fuck up. It's a free market. If you don't like something, don't fucking buy it.
Once again, the simple concept of a free market doesn't seem to register with you goons.
It does add something....flying paper and leafs, and i like that !
lol, real life is powered by physx. Theres a huge plant somewhere, housed with millions of geforce cards, powering our real life simulated leafs and..stuffs.
I'm sorry, but under what stone were you living under when 6800 came out?
Obviously a stone that wasn't plastered with nVidia fagboy advertising, because I remember something completely different -- and a hundred and one benchmarks between the X850 and the 6800 prove me right, and you wrong.

Playing down the physx features?
There has been some awsome parts of the game with them in abundance and it would look totally bland playing those parts again without them.
They add a great deal to the game.
And that's factual.
Is the steam physx Only?
That's some impressive stuff.

Christ, will you jerks cry me a river...whatever happened to discussing the game and not the freaking problems...go to support and let us talk about the game not what card is better for your evening session with porn.
HEY MODS is this the game discussion area or the bitchy whiny area. Some of us would like to talk about the game not the problems some jerks seem to have on all the games they install.
After 99 pages what else can be said? It's a good game, people should play it. Hell, they should buy it so it proves games like this are viable on the PC.
A warning, people have been banned because they were flaming one another and calling names. I don't care who was right and who wasn't, lines were crossed.
To the brewing flamewar about whether or not something is generic, I can only give warning and say that it's just a game, not a religion.
One mans pisspot is another man's holy grail.
With that; respect oneanother and discuss in a civilized manner and no more bans will occur.
I seem to recall that in the first room during the demo the walls/stone would shatter when punched or when you slammed enemies into it. I just now realized that in retail with my PhysX settings on High this seems to no longer be the case - can't break the pillars.
What gives?
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

dunno, I was able to run physx in the demo but wouldn't run int eh retail period lol
You need to use the batarang from what I've read, should cause them to break.
The batarang works on the tiled floors, but I'm talking about the pillars in the very first room of the demo level. I could have sworn I could punch them and pieces would break off. Even saw a physx demo video showing it - yet I can't seem to replicate that now...

Ah yeah those pillars near the cells, it worked in the demo as you said but perhaps it's somewhat different in the full game, could have sworn I saw a post stating that the batarang worked on them but perhaps it was for some other destructible object then?
