It originally wasn't named Geo-Mod 2.0 (was something like R.E.D. iirc) but guess they changed it for continuity's sake. But yeah, still pretty dumb... Maybe Geo-Mod 3.0 will have the terrain deformation again.

I want to see a FreeSpace 3 with this engine. Just thinking about blowing big chunks out of capital ships makes me drool.

Found out how to mod some simple weapon properties, like making an automatic nano rifle, or an assault rifle with explosive bullets. Once we get some proper tools, I think modding will really take off for this game.

x64, at least the Vista/7.
Edit: I think it includes both 32 and 64 bits.

Patch details, seems they're still waiting for Microsoft to authorize the file over LIVE but it's a pretty small patch.
(Some bug fixes and crash fixes, doesn't mention that speed issue though.)

Epic. That's more like it! Aside from hideous performance and super-duper fast turret control, this game has been golden. I've not suffered from ANY crashes yet.

Fucking Microsoft and piece of shit GFWL. Patch was ready on October 9 and we still can't get it. I hope it fixes that sound bug and black screen crash for ATI cards when you try to change display resolution.

I remember DOW 2 patch approval having a backlog of 1 month. Looks like everyone is turning into Apple App Store.
