- 60fps
- 800+ cars
- 35 tracks
- online mode
- Cross-over compatibility with GT5 (such as your car collection)
...and new PSPgo owners in Europe who register between the 1st and 10th of October will get the full game for free over PSN. Which is quite cool if you were in the market for a PSPgo in the first place.
Also the official, non bullshot, screenshots don't seem to do the game justice as the PSP screen smooths out the jaggies if video/photos are to be believed.
PSP go isn't an upgrade, it's an alternative - and they are apparently looking into a way for you to exchange those UMD's somehow - but since nobody bought any I'm not sure it will be a big problem. Incidentally, this is the GRAN TURISMO thread, so I guess you could take this conversation here instead; http://www.nfohump.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1029385#1029385
Video replay of the Bugatti Veyron... looks freaking cool (!) and unmistakably Gran Turismo in both how it looks and in how it plays. I never really saw the allure of playing GT on a handheld, but the more I see of this the more I like the idea of it.

its not just the games. its the finaly big 'fuck you' for anyone who actually supported the stupid ass umd movie format
They haven't abandoned the format - it still exits (and is rumoured to be included in a revised larger PSP also). It's just people now have two types of PSP to go for; larger with UMD, smaller without. Nobody forces you to buy a PSPgo or download from PSN, it's just an extra option.
Just some tidbits; whilst the PSP version doesn't feature damage or deformation (like GT5) it does have some effects to help with the barrier 'crashes'. Namely lots of smoke and sparks... which as a compromise looks like it will work quite well; It'll also have fully functioning 'active' parts, so for example the rear spoilers on the Bugatti and R8 will deploy whilst driving - and it will also feature voice-over work from car buff Jay Leno for things like track guides.
damn is the game nicely put together. So much to do, and it handles oh so well. he interior view is really cool. And it's nice to see that the info bar at the bottom of the screen while playing isn't there to "make the screen smaller so it runs smoother". It's actually transparent. Loving the soundtrack so far. The intro is pretty awesome.

t's gorgeous at 60fps of course. The one, very little TTP-style nitpick I have about the visuals is the slight, white seaming of the course polygons here and there, usually where there are subtle curves and elevation changes. That's it though.

Anyway, for those asking, there is no "career mode" per say, but everything you do (besides time trial) is tracked and earns you credits and status, so you can rank up and puchase more cars, etc. So the entire game is treated like a career mode of sorts. There are like 102 Challenge Mode events (license-test style) also.
It's GT, packaged as a more casual, portable experience. It still has all the tuning and advanced control options and everything for hardcores. It works really well so far. I really love the interior cockpit view. It has a useful side view mirror and everything.

You get credits for everything you do besides plain time trial/practice. Single Races, Drift Trials, and Challenge Modes all earn you credits and everything.
It's nothing like steam however, it's on proprietary hardware, with proprietary games and firmware. It's not a small task now that sony has patched up a good portion of the holes.
Supporting Sony will mean the eventual death of this site and many other related ones.... this is just the first step
nobody listened to me... don't buy uncrackable consoles like the ps3
ummm you can crack ps3 lol but 50gb games are a bitch to download
it's not worth it. besides ps3 can play almost every format out there...
and you aren't buying a ps3 for multiplatform games you buy it for the exclusives...
so it's worth the money. for a bluray player, top quality games (few), and a media centre...
for 299...
guys, don't forget a lot of people that were charge on the FW hacks
now not working on a new one, like DA,
Sony just have a luck that they are in "interruption" for the time being,
hopefully new group will pop up and hack the the shit out of the new FW.
