Playing the game, loving it, great looks, great performance.
As a seasoned Gothic series veteran, im playing on hard of course and the combat gives me no trouble whatsoever. As of now, ive yet to find a chalenging oponent, but im realy early in the game, so we will see.
To each his own i guess, but i cant believe some ppl complain and even compare this to G3, especialy in terms of boar mayhem
Everyone who enjoyed the Gothic trilogy, will love this.
Can anyone tell me where the can I actualy learn to use spells, runes and all that stuff? I'm member of The Don as much as I hate it, and I can't get locked in the monastery anymore, just reached chapter 2.

I have problem with "Fleecing with butcher" quest (from Cid). How i'm supposed to solve it?
BTW the game is great for me, Gothic fan.
Beat the crap out of the Butcher and then go back to cid , he will tell you to steal from him.... The rest you can figure out
I knocked him out, but after talking to him the quest was cancelled Also, i can't talk to Cid about that. I did the "stealing" quest before, even without talking to Cid about that.
When i play i have a strange FPS slowdowns...... when i have 60 fps , then fps drops to 35 fps and again GO UP to 60 fps.... no important what place in game...this slowdowns are in all places of game....
no matter what place in game...fps for a 2 second drops to 35 fps and again to 60 fps...
in house room , in caves, in forest , all places in game,,,,strange
I can't remember who it was who offered me the advice "attack, dodge, attack, dodge - enemies almost never hit" earlier (I could trawl through the thread, but I'm too busy playing the game ) -- but thanks! It's taken me so long to get the hang of dodging properly, and efficiently, and now it's paid off! Taking on packs of beasts is almost no problem at all now, just as long as I make sure they do NOT flank/surround me.
Got a bit of a problem with one quest, perhaps someone could help me out? It's the one with Patty/Rovanov and pirate treasure.
Spoiler:
After I've gone with her to dig up a grave, she said i'm supposed to find 5 unnamed graves with something inside. She said she'll mark it on my map, but she marked nada. Found one, but looking blindly for the other 4 all over the island seems a bit frustrating. Is this a bug or what? Anyone got a clue where they are?
Btw, as far as combat goes, this is the best of gothics so far. Uh. Gothic-like games i mean. Counters, side attacks, there's a lot happening, though mostly the fights with humanoids are fun, beast get tedious sometimes as they usually have one attack sequence. It's a huge upgrade from Gothic 2, i won't even mention the third .
Can anyone please tell me how to join the actual mages early game? Not the inquisitors(order of the flame) or the den. Do You just allow yourself to get captured and carry on with the quests there?

To the best of my knowledge, Mussonlinka, the Inquisitors *are* the mages. So basically, head down towards the town instead of going to the bandit camp.
Explored the island a bit, found a shithouse or what they're called (loo?) and moments later I was dead, I'll be back once I get some decent armor (Stolen sailor outfit isn't that usable with it's +5 to defense and magic protection, haha.) and then I'll kill that thing.
Oh and I encountered a overgrown grasshopper as well, funny how it could traverse traps that would instantly kill me but I got rid of it eventually.
yup they are...tried it together with the hunter when entering the small island in the east....wasnt able to kill it yet... will try again tomorrow lol.
