First one has to be the ugliest face I've seen so far, second image is just a odd monster I encountered when exploring.

The main brothel chick told me exactly how to get to the guy. Did you buy any info from her, pay for the prostitute, help the other chicks?

Didn't buy the info off of her since none of it seemed to exactly relate to the quest (did everything else tho). But yeah found it by rechecking the paintings - I'd actually clicked on them earlier and it didn't work then, so go figure. Razz

Hi, this is my first post on this board, though I've been reading here for quite some time.

I've played Risen for approximately 8h now, and I must say, I am quite positively surprised.

First, PB have made an excellent choice, porting the G1/2 game mechanic/gameplay to a new and modern game. They simply did what they can do best.

The World, has an amazing level of Detail, not just via the gfx but also due to the unique arrangement of every inch of Land.

The characters have (what a character should have) character!

The combat system is demanding in the beginning but even more gratifying, should you win a fight.

Finally, choosing your side on the island isnt an easy choice, morally. This is not Bioware or Bethesda where Good and Evil are easily defined (Renegade&Paragon anyone?). The three factions all have their moral conflicts to go through for the player. For my part, I can understand each of their viewpoints, so choosing which side to play on wasnt an easy task for me. I sided with the Bandits as I thought the island should belong to them. But really the harder the choice, the more I have to think about it, get opinions from people on the island and so on, the better. This is maybe the best part of the game for me.

This is my personal goty, maybe even the most interesting game since the last 3 years.

Also thanks to the people on nfohump for their support, especially JBeckman.

(Btw. I'm from Luxemburg, so English isnt my native language. Some expressions could sometimes sound weird)

EDIT: One Question though: Is it normal that you get only a very small percentage of the value of items from the merchants? Do all merchants have the same prices? Selling items really doesnt serve alot. Then again, it makes you want more skills for making money. Smile

Really enjoying the game, so much better than the unbearable Gothic 3. Am a huge Gothic 2 fan and this brings back some memories. Harbortown reminds me a lot of Khorinis.

Anyways, I'm having trouble

Try to get lockpicking skills +2 and of course sneaking. It really helps getting money and adds a lot of fun to the gameplay.

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

Just started the game but got a strange problem; there's no map visible - just the outline of it with nothing in it.
Anyone else got this problem? Game runs perfect on highest settings.

You have to find or buy the actual map to see it in the map screen.

Your English is very good and the grammar seems fine, don't worry there are many nethanderal posters here who can barely connect words together.

Anyone knows? I'm still at the bandit camp and the smith there (and all the traders I met before) buys everything for like 1/5 of the price. Is that the case with other traders?

Yep, not sure if that's going to change once you advance in ranks for a certain faction, but i doubt it

Anybody else seen a weird bug with the Avenged release, it all works perfectly except there is no actual audio for the voices, just text.

Anybody else seen it? Or better still know how to fix it?
