Piranha Bytes and Deep Silver have talked about a console patch to improve things a bit (As seen by the unpacker and the X360 ISO the textures are like half the resolution and the meshes less detailed judging by the smaller size of the files and the files inside those PAK files.)

Didn't try it but I suppose one could have used the mesh and image pak files in the PC version to compare a bit more directly how it looked though the "port" or what to call it was handled by a third studio and they seem to have been a bit conservative with the settings. (As also seen by the ripped config files.)

Still can't believe there is only 2 helmets in the entire game. Well 3, if you count the god armor.. but seriously. One leather hat and one tin bucket?

I can reforge long lost magical swords that drain souls, I can work ancient obsidian and gold in the strongest sword the world has seen (even better than aforementioned magical swords), and I can affix gems to gold to create legendary jewelry.. but I can't make a fucking hat?

yeah, armor creation would have been the icing on the cake Sad hope they include it in the next gothic sequel (whatever it may be called and if there ever is one)

It's not a bug, it's a trap Wink Morph into a Nautilus to walk through Wink

There's a "difficult chest" or a "difficult desk" around - you know those green ones - so if you loot it completely it will teleport you back until you put something from your inventory in it
At least that's how i managed to pass through that door ^

See? another way of looking at it! THESE are the "bugs" (yeah, right Rolling Eyes) that I like. Ones that seem like they're even part of the game itself, adding to the immersion! Love stuff like that ^_^

One known bug is the initiation to the monastery, if you do a part of it's chain out of order you'll get stuck as the questgiver won't complete it, marked to be patched by a Piranha Bytes employee though so it should be fixed soon, some people even had to restart the game from the beginning (Lack of saves until some other people uploaded theirs.)

I've looted everything and anything that was marked "difficult" in the entire game, and never had any problems because of this. And all it took to "solve the puzzle" was reloading a game. So it is a bug, clearly. Even looks like a bug as there are no graphic effects to mark it. You just appear in a different place.

Shit happens, especially in RPG's. Did you ever see an RPG without major bugs at release?

Gamebreaking ones? Not very often. Anyway I was just mocking those people trying to spin a bug as being 'immersive' which is a crock of shit.

And being an RPG doesn't excuse anything...

Had a quest where I had to get a bunch of guys to follow me to fight another bunch of guys. After we won the fight, my followers started returning to their camp, one of them decided to go the long way around. I tried to protect him along the way from all kinds of animals, but in the end he got one-hitted by an ogre, wasn't really anything I could do except stand back and watch. Oh and loot his dead body afterward. Oh well, RIP Phil.

I had the same goddamn problem at the start too, ouch. It *does* get better/easier later, you just need to train a bit more with your chosen weapon - and the more you level, you more HP you'll have too. Oh and since you're in the Don's camp, quest there! You *seriously* need those Workers Clothes armour. They help infinitesimally at the start!

As for the Ghouls? Too early for that, mate. They'll kick your ass, hard, for hours yet. They're extremely tough enemies.

I managed to kill a ghoul without the workers clothes Very Happy i shot him in the arm, then ran away (I was fast enough to get away thanks to bunnyjumping Laughing) and luis and the other guy actually helped me killing him... I always attacked from behind Cool Face but I don't know how to mine.. where can I learn it?

And infact it would have been impossible for me to win in the arena fights if I hadn't found that little shield in some fucking cave. Did they really expect me to go in every cave and search for shit?? ... At least I wouldn't have been able to win the first fight... as I used the crossbow to win against the other fighters and brogar Laughing

Great addicitve game.

Taking the bandit route, Bogel got killed somehow but I'm already doing the harbor quests for the Don so hopefully I didn't miss any Bogel quests (only did 1 I think)

I looted Seamens clothes from that head farmer on the way to harber city (wait till midnight and loot the chest inside his house using sneak and the back entrance)
