the GFX are good, you don't need a high spec PC to make the game look rather nice, unlike NFSG 2.
the sound is pretty crappy, the music mainly sucks except for a few tracks.
there IS a city to ride around, just like NFSUG so don't know what that guy up there is on.
the car handling sucks imo.
plus, this game came at exactly the wrong time for me. I complete NFSUG 2 a month or so ago so i'm pretty much strung out on street racing for a while, if it had come earlier I might still be in the mood. I guess my customized car and stats in NFSUG 2 make it seem like the cars in this game are a piece of shit.
oh, and it works perfectly too.
the damage modelling is alright, your car can get dents, scrapes, busted tail lights, head lights, the hood gets crumpled, the trunk gets crimpled and the wear and tear affects the cars handling, acceleration etc.
the garage has a rather extensive array of parts to buy with no real explanation of what they do and how they affect acceleration or handling.
the first car I built could accelerate like a mofo but it handled like a fuckin tank, which sucked. they need far better explanation of what the part your putting in actaully does, I need a car with good handling, and your not given that info.
there are also cops in the 'free-ride' mode. so if you speed past a cop, slam into him or whatever, they'lll chase you, and get more cops on your tail. they'll also try takedown techniques like ramming and such.
if the handling was better on the cars, this game would be a very nice NFSUG 2 alternative. as it is, it sucks.

This game rocks! Yeah controls are a pos, but they're fun in they're own way. The gfx i reckon are much better than NFSU 2. Great game!

Could someone guide me into getting this game to work?
I've installed it, mounted the game on alcohol... then i loaded the Starfuck tool, and i selected Starforce 3.4.63.2 clicked on patch blacklist. Then i went to preferences and changed Method of channels patch to SuperAggressive (even tried with Aggressive) saved the settings, and then i disabled the cdroms.. and i loaded up the game! It loaded fine, i saw the intro video, got to the menu, configured everything and went to street mode, where it showed another video, but right after that it crashes!!
Any idea how I can fix this?

the crash ain't got anything to do with copy protection. must be some incompatibility with ur drivers/hardware.
if it's copy protection that's the problem then u wouldn't even have been able to get past the initial loading.

lol i think it was a problem with my controller, i have psx-to-usb converter hooked upto my computer, i had enabled vibrate and tried playing it.. it kept crashing, then i tried to change it back to the keyboard didnt work, so i deleted my profile, made a new one and configured the controller, without vibrate, works fine!!

ok crap i'm gonna delete this game :S it doesn't even work :S i finaly got the stupid game starting up and now it just crashes after the namco thingy :S
