Well lets see what this game is about (as if noone knows Rolling Eyes ). Grabbing the RLD release, hopefully they havent missed triggers and shit.

To all of you "discussing" ArmA2 vs OFP2, was anyone really suprised OFP2 would have better performance then ArmA2? Most people in the OFP/ArmA community who arent complete BIS fanboys knew the ArmA2 would run like a complete pig when we saw the first screenshots. Smile We were actually suprised to see it ran better then we hoped..

i was wondering which version to get..

PC-screenshots look far superior to the console ones.. then again that's probably run on some unaffordable hardware

so how is the game on the hardware?
or, will it look better than the 360 version on a 2x3ghz,4gbram,ati4850 rig? otherwise i think i'll stick with the console version.

Well, after playing for about 2 hours. . .
I am pretty dambned happy with this purchase.

game is epic.

I disagree about the graphics not being anything special. I think they are pretty stellar.
Ambiance is top rate.

Totally worth every cent.

8800GT+SLI 3.2 AMD duelley+ max settings, the game runs very slick, and is pretty sweet so far, going to play some more tomorrow and get into it more, only gripe I have so far is the command menu is a little clunky during battle.

Some of the detail in this game is amazing. They even modeled far way ssounds... like you see a chopper blow up a building and then a few seconds later you get the "boom".

At first, i thought something was wrong because i saw it blow up and then i got the realistic delayed (and muffled) boom sound and that was pretty fuckin sweet.

Sniping in this game kicks some major ass.

You can tweak the LOD distance a bit but it doesn't alter things that much (I posted a example on the previous page though I recommend 0.3 instead of 0.1 as it won't reduce performance quite as much.)

Other than that there isn't much to alter when you already have everything at the highest.
(Also the LOD sector amount and tree lod reset and doesnt' seem to be configurable which leaves only the main LOD value to tinker with.)

Good mix of action and tactics though I got a bit surprised when two of my team members came back to life after a checkpoint (Completed a objective.) and they can get stuck a bit if you take alternative routes which leaves them far behind you.

EDIT: You can also try the single missions, I posted the codes on the previous page. Razz

EDIT: Whoops, perhaps shouldn't have alt-tabbed like that, game didn't like it. Very Happy
(Stopped responding, it happens to a few titles, I'll just replay the mission late, haha.)

Teammates don't respawn at checkpoints on hard or veteran, just normal.

It's pretty good so far, only did a couple of missions. You will get headshot out of nowhere and die instantly sometimes, so keep your head down!

Suprised it worked on Multi, although I was kicked from the game as I loaded the map and ran around for about 3 seconds.

Single Player is okay, Keyboard/360controller key setup is a little strange/aqward.

I dont like the aiming on the controller, but I dont like the keylayout on the keyboard.

The graphics are decent, nothing amazing. This game could have some awsome MOD's, I was messing around with the flashlight and was thinking a Zombie Mod would work well with this engine.

AI is kinda stupid on Veteran,

from 200 meters ( Which seems too far for 200m) they just stand still after you put 2-3 center mass shots

and sometimes they pop out of nowhere and fully-auto you in the face

Best pistol sound/action from any shooter though. Besides RE4 and the Magnum.

Does anyone think there is an issue with the FOV on widescreens? It has an aspect ratio option in graphic settings but it doesn't look like it is working properly. The gun is half the size of the screen and everything looks too big in 1920 x 1200. It reminds me of Far Cry 2 or Bioshock when they first released and the FOV was all messed up for widescreen monitors.

Is anyone else noticing this or is it just me? Razz

Easy way to check that, simply run the game in 4:3 resolution and see the difference.

There's a FOV setting you can adjust as well in the config files (User directory and then my documents and finally my games and the OFPDR folder.) however it should be correctly set already. Confused
(There's a few other presets in the config files in the game folder.)

I've hosted a few games.... After each round, everyone gets booted, just like in a FUEL race online. Host has to then create another server and hope the other people get the idea, most seemed to. You can also create a friends list, but doesn't stop the game from booting everyone after a round is over, pretty clever eh?

Well I'm dissapointed.

Game graphics are ok, nothing more.

Nicely optimized gotta give them that.

Gameplay just don't feel right.

Not the smoothness of gameplay like COD4 had when you were runnning around. And Im talking feel of game not actually mouse movement.

Gives me a very "Arcadish" sense when playing. Even on hardcore. Some how you can just tell this is ment to be played on a console.

Vehicle steering (cars, helo's etc) are complete and utter crap.

No dedicated server files = EPIC FAIL

After a few multiplayer games I got completely turned off. Multiplayer modes/maps just don't grab you like it should.

Oh well. Second time this year a big title dissapoints me. First Arma2 now this!!
