I have a brand new LG W2261VP connected via DVI which turned itself off at random intervals and I had to turn it on from the power button, only to have it turn itself off again after a while. Worst thing is that once the OS tells it to Stand-by, it turns itself off and I can't even get it to power back up via the power button. I have to remove its power cable, let the power drain, put the cable back on, turn it on, only to have it go to stand-by and have to reset my computer. The monitor displays properly only when the BIOS shows up again.

I guess I should RMA it, and I'm calling LG Tech Support tomorrow, I just wanted to see if anyone had a similar experience and has something to say that can help me.

I called LG Hellas Tech Support and was instantly put through to a rep that, after telling him my problem, took my personal info and asked me to Fax over a copy of the receipt with the S/N on it and that the Tech Support team would contact me as to how to resolve this.

Well... They'll either come and pick it up, or tell me to go to the shop I bought it from and RMA it.

Temporary solution until RMA or the Tech call? Disable Windows turning off the monitor.

Well, as it seems LG Service works great here.

A friend of mine had a 19 inch monitor of his get to his home defective, and they're replacing it with a 23 inch one! I mean ...that's a whole 4 more inches just for coming accross a defective product.

I didn't get upgraded, but I won't have to stay without a monitor for even an hour. The courier that arrives on Wednesday will have a brand new monitor for me (almost the same 22 inch model, just not of the defective batch), taking my old defective one with him to LG.
