The game doesn't let you choose much when creating your character so it's really just for tuning the character's looks.

I couldn't really make a female character look Asian though.

+ what good is showing us 2 different skill tables, if you cant select a single one ?

And what would you do with those skills?

And I saw plenty of customization. Hell, you can even be hairless! No eyebrows!

It's more detailed than Mass Effect for sure, and maybe just a bit short of Fallout 3 which had a ridiculous number of beards.

its not about what to do with them, its about that you cant select anything. I.E. you are a fighter you HAVE to start with those 3-4 skills they give you. You can't define more speciflcy what you want etc. I.e. why bother showing them at all.

And for showing the skills, big what, those are more or less the basic dnd skills anyway ^^ (reminded me of kotor aswell lol)

Now only if there was the full game.. Smile

I can't be a dwarf since I wanna be a mage.

And I wanted to start as an elf because it would be fun playing as a disregarded race.

Guess I'll replay the game at least 3 times, once as a elven mage, second as a elven mage (female) and third time as a human mage.

Will be fun, and probably worth it. Very Happy

Male human fighter, female elven mage and dwarf rogue. That's what I'm thinking.

Might switch for human rogue and dwarf fighter though.

Well, as character creation in any rpg takes me ages to complete i have pretty much planned my chars and their paths Smile

A shield wearing defensive righteous human fighter with looks like mine

Red haired green eyed baddass elf chick - blood mage - tho her looks & name will be nice for elf rogue as well , damn.. such a dillema..

Also, white haired blue eyed, light tanned human female mage dealing with lightning and heals Very Happy

One think i know for sure - won't touch the short guys. Dunno why but never liked them in any fantasy.

You can skip it..

It's also not spoilers, it's the official trailer of the game.

Uh, do you not see 1680x1050 right there in the options? Choose it. I did. It lists 16x10 aspects first so it ends up in the middle.

You might wanna look up a bit, 1680x1050 is there but it's not the lowest in the list... Razz

Man i just read some of the spell descriptions.

They are very close to useless ,at best extremely vague.

Now you have to pick spells and skills etc, random and hope they are good.

I know this game isn't based in D&D but still, half of the fun a cRPGs is to compare stats on spells and weapons trying to determine what to choose.

If you have very vague descriptions you can only guess...

Big disappointment for me, game breaking really.

Well well i guess i knew deep down that this would never be a spiritual successor of BG they hype it to be.

Yey! i found, a new weapon!

DLC doesn't necessarily mean milking. Depends on how big and how pricy those DLC's are. The DLC's for ME were pretty good. I'd rather have a regular DLC for 10 bucks than an expansion every two years for 50 bucks.

There was DLC for NWN? Last I heard it was called "expansion pack" which actually required some work from the team instead of cutting out quests and items from the original game and then charging money for them. Laughing

Now they demand you to buy like 5 copies of the game to get the content that was supposed to be in it in the first place Laughing

NWN was something different altogether. It was meant to be a platform for adventures and such, and premium modules were just that - new, smaller (and better ,since original campaign in nwn1 was simply HORRIBLE) campaigns. Here, we're talking about expanding an existing experience, so yeah, it's milking the franchise.

If they want to keep an RPG going for two years, then they should make a real expansion pack, with a lot of content. And a story. Not a side quest for 2 hours. A real story, a continuation or something different, but a story nonetheless. Even good DLC, like Bring Down the Sky, are way to small to make up for an expansion pack like Throne of Bhaal.

The difference can be seen with bare eyes, even with a more recent example. Oblivion had both small DLC addons and a full fledged one (Shivering Isles) and everything that was added in DLCs paled in comparision to SI, which actually gave oblivion a good story and atmosphere - things it lacked heavily at launch.

You're just taking cheap shots at Bioware now. The current DLC's are just sinmply 'bonusses'. Yes it's sad, but calling this shit DLC is wrong. I doubt the future DLC's will be two rings and a sock for the hero. They obviously are talking about DLC's ala ME and GTA, so it's fine by me. As long as the price is right, they can release DLC's. This 'news' isn't that new btw. It's been long known Bioware has a seperate DLC team working on DA DLC's.
