Meh, almost all reviews seem to shortly mention SP and skip to coop/MP Sad. Too bad, I hate playing MP. The only game I play with my friends is FM. I'll try it I guess, but I doubt it'll be enjoyable on my own.

Well appears that the PC version has broken the street date now, time to see if Gearbox is gonna honor their word and start activations early.

it isn't up to Gearbox. They can request, but the decision lies with 2K.

They never did. They said they would ASK it be rolled back.

No. i actually played split screen on my 360 with my little boy. Was a blast. But i stopped so we could all play together on our PC's. I got 2 boys and bought a copy for each of them.

I would say it is good solo as well. i watched a guy play for 2 days via streaming video and he seemed to be having a blast by himself.
You won't be missing any additional content soloing except for more enemies spawned.
If you like playing Diablo II or Hellgate London solo, this should keep you entertained.
Plus, it's jump in/jump out coop. its not like you have to have separate characters for MP/SP.

if there are going to be early releases, and those releases are legit (not mistakes) then the release date will have to be set back... we won't screw people.

Not will try, not will ask, but WILL HAVE.

It's still up to the publisher.
Now, go have yourself a cookie for proving my incorrect semantics and start your ranting and raving because I will be surprised if it gets rolled back.

It's not semantics, my whole point is that they shouldn't make empty promises, i don't care who makes that decision, if they're not the one who's responsible for making it, They shouldn't be making statements implying they are.

Ok. no point in getting worked up over it. Either it will be rolled back or it won't.
Go post on their forums about it.

Are we for certain the street date for PC has been broken? I tried quickly looking on the official forums and couldn't see anyone saying they had it.

People are saying that they are, but to my knowledge no proof other than their word.

All the data is in the preload, it's just encrypted. It's not even packed, just the ordinary directory structure and everything but you can't execute the files as they're encrypted.
Even the readme.txt file is garbled.
Borderlands.exe is 30,8 MB (32.328.192 byte)

apparently retail doesn't even have any keys o.0

everyone troll their forums telling them you bought the game but can't activate Razz

I was about to post this. I love when console ports do this NO KEYS yay!

And now, like SpykeZ said: To the forums! Troll my friends! So we can have a Clone ASAP.

NOW we test the resolve of people. The only protection is a DVD check (aside from the release date check, which meh...) and not even a serial key needed. Are people still going to pirate the shit out of this, taking advantage of 2K/Gearbox's generosity, or are we going to buy it and support an obviously great development and publishing team?

I'm definitely buying it, there was never any doubt about that (irrespective of my earlier rage over the delay), but I'm not paying the ridiculous price on Steam. €45 is too much for me, so I'll get it from Play.com or some other e-Retailer.

Naw better make a new one altogether. The reactions from the moronic community are worth it. People with 30 posts going all high and mighty and yelling you to use search and read the rules. Laughing
