What is this site for?

I'd presume it's for manual activation, just in case you don't have a home net connection; you could pop down a net cafe, or round a friend's house, and manually activate?

I can't blame them for not pushing the date forward. Gearbox is great and I've laughed my ass off at the Claptrap vids and this one:

Those are some cool dudes and I like the art and style of the game. I hope a lot of people buy and support the game. We've already seen MW2 go down the shitter. I hope to see PC gaming stay alive and active without always getting the fucking shaft. I bought the game as did a bunch of my clan mates. Should be good fun.

Ok so the PC game was on retail shelves three days ago, same as the console - right? Sealed and packaged in DVD cases - right?

.... so that begs the question; what was the delay for? It was obviously NOT for "optimisation" or "feature implementation" since the game was stocked at the SAME TIME as the console version. There's your proof, people.

Ahhhh, the sweet smell of victory! Don't worry guys, you know who you are, don't respond to my post because I won't see it.

V-I-C-T-O-R-Y! Laughing Laughing Laughing

They didn't even bother to cover it up it seems Sad. I'm waiting for the official "Ha Ha PC fuckers" comment from 2K Elizabeth. That would be better than her "we're looking into it guys" BS.

they sure have a LOT of faith in their copy protection (Securom guys must love that post aswell). Which makes ya wonder, why use a copy protection in the first place, if even you, the publisher, know its shit and useless ?

I'd rather give them my money than Acturdvision. Fucking shame what they did to MW2. That game would have sold millions of units on the PC then they make the game peer-to-peer? WTF. It's funny how now all of a sudden EA and DICE are the saviors. Go figure. I also like that 2k released NBA 2K10 for $20 for PC, which I also bought. I'm not the biggest 2K fan in the world, but I think they've learned some lessons since Bioshock hopefully.

The same with Ubisoft, too. Sometimes - only sometimes - a loud outcry really can change a company. Well, that and a shit-ton of law suits Laughing Ubisoft got sued to fuckries and back over Starforce, so they dropped it completely.

Shame that didn't work with Far Cry 2 - it's still in the same sorry state as it was in its release day. With proper patch and mod support that game could've really been something.

Rolling Eyes

Wrong whinefest thread son.

P.S. IW wanted to move to consoles long before this. Activision actually made them support PC more than they wished.

So please, keep that blind ignorant rage forthcoming. Quite entertaining.

I just wonder how many people here actually have the game in hand and can't play it (and not just a Steam preload). I bet nearly every one of you isn't pissed you can't play your legit copy, you are pissed you can't torrent it yet. Fucking irony. Laughing

Hey guys,

Yesterday we learned that a fraction of the PC copies of Borderlands were accidentally sold to consumers in some countries but that gamers could not activate their copies yet. Since we learned of this problem, we have been looking into the issue to find the best possible solution for everyone.

I'm going to be completely honest with you guys right now. It is not possible for us to move the planned release date of the game forward. We could not possibly get the games into stores worldwide and out for digital distribution any earlier than planned. Less than 1% of all copies were sold, and if we unlocked the game today, illegal versions would most likely appear on torrents by the evening. I am sure all of you want our PC launch to be as successful as possible, and we simply won't be able to manage that any earlier than already planned.

I want to apologize for those of you who have gotten the game ahead of our release date, and ask for your patience and understanding. The game will be ready in the US and Canada at midnight eastern standard time on Monday, October 26th, and internationally by Friday, October 30th.

But steam sales are international .. no ? I mean ... why should they care where I live if i buy it online as digital media ...

Does the client detects europe or US ? Steam site ( and the client ) says unlock in 3 days ...

Anyone knows for sure ?

*I* know for sure, because I'm looking at it right now Razz Steam sales aren't international, if there's a release date for one region and another for a different one - they abide by those. My Steam client says "30th of October. Will unlock in approximately 7 days 0 hours"

its sad :/ same shit was with spore (they didnt have date lock tho)
i wanted it so bad that i was ready to go to store on premire day.

but after looking at pirated v i decided its a waste of money and ignored it.
its shame how the corporations treat average customer.

hype the game till you bleed and sell crap . but since we have console vids and reviews we can atleast tell the game is cool.

besides i feel for gearbox they feel into 2k bullcrap
