There's no change in the protection of the game whatsoever with the patch!

Come on, I have an ISO image on WinMount! There's no emulation at all! All the game sees is maybe the DVD size and the game's files on the mounted DVD.

As it seems, SI went on a really easy copy protection scheme this year, which means we won't need cracks whenever a patch is released. Just keep the image mounted and you're all set.

I use WinMount because it can also mount archives, such as ZIP, RAR, etc.

I'm not sure what you're asking about, but I'm assuming you believe strategy is the same as micro-management. Kind of hard to tell really because your one-liner response doesn't include much intelligent information.

To answer my own rhetorical question and in case you didn't understand my initial post; yes strategy can be about micro-management and how well you're able to tie together knots administratively. It can however, strategy that is, also be about having an overall philosophy or strategy where you set general guidelines. Coming up with a vision or a philosophy is where the real 'brainwork' is in my opinion, not how you administratively decide to execute it, although you occasionally see moments of genius administrators there as well.

There's still a lot of important work left to deal with such as: what kind of football you want to play, how you're going to play it and with whom at which places. I want a management sim that simulates the real world of a modern manager. There's still countless of important decisions to be made.

Let me draw another analogy: There's a difference between a politician and his administration. Normatively speaking you can assume that a politician has the vision, plan and ideology and his administration simply executes their orders within given boundaries. There's the difference I'm talking about. Modern football manager games has become so complex that you're in effect both the politician and it's administration. This is what I refer to as a chore.

I've seen some of the replies stating that you can simply let the AI deal with the 'boring' parts and that is exactly what I did last time I tried a management game a couple of years ago. The problem was that the training schedule my AI coach set up was terrible, so the fitness and progression of my players was well below anything I could put together myself, and that of my AI opponents.

Maybe I'll get this one just to try it. Who knows it might be more about overall strategy if you want and less about administration if you so wish, although I doubt it.

sorry, i didnt take you for an intelligent being Very Happy
if you want less involvement, other manager games like LMA manager are like that but they lack in quality big time

football manager is ABSOLUTE football...so...everything is involved

I read over on the SIOSI forums that the patch that was prematurely released has NO database updates at all in this patch. It's all code-related fixes.

That may explain why it was pulled on the official site.

Yesterday my Youth Team goalkeeper talent (which had only one keeper) got sold by the chairman cause it was a to good offer to turn down. The offer was 39.000 while the player was valued on 38.000 ..... kinda sucks Sad

Don't bother downloading the "official" patch if you got around to downloading the one released/leaked yesterday. It has the same filesize to the byte, same timestamps, so it's the same one.

I've posted a link to the patch on Page 6 on FileFactory that's recompressed to 30MBs instead of the official 70MBs if you're in a hurry or not on such a good connection.

Bugs like what? I played two seasons without the patch and the game was fine, only thing that was annoying was the bug with the international manager option, I could say yes as many times I liked, but I never got the job.

Try to form some facts before spewing your vomit please. Seems like your the only one Wink

Oh come the fuck on. Too much hassle to have the image always mounted to, say, the Z: drive?

BTW, I'm not attacking you, I'm just mocking the concept of someone being too bored to even do that, considering the hours they'll spend on each session.

Dammit, I'm wasting what could be game time by answering. Damn youz.
