English ITA FR SPA GER

Region +++++++ : NTSC/J / ASiA / PAL

A tad confusing, is this the Asian vers or what? I didnt think Asian games had Euro languages?

Well, my copy has some slight jerkiness in the opening story. Don't see why it should jerk as I installed it to hdd.
Anyway, will update as I go, the story reminds me of one of the better authors of fantasy like GRR Martin.
Update: slight jerkiness seemed to be only during the epilogue.

The game so far seems to be built from the ground up with high quality in mind.
Voice casting, animations and environments, all reflect what looks like one of the best games of the year.
Imagine Mass Effect transposed to a AD&D type world with what seem to be better graphics and fonts.
However, unlike Mass Effect the world is 'busy', not barren like many of the areas in ME.

The underground areas I have visited so far (1st race quest cave and dungeon) and the surface are superb examples of well-thought out design and appearance.
Light sourcing, audio atmospherics and level design all seem to come together to put to bed one important question: This game's world at least graphically can hold its head up proudly as the successor to Baldurs Gate.

Conclusion: This game has the scope and grandeur of The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion but far more importantly it's mechanics have the depth of a Baldur's Gate.

As I write this I am looking down at the snow-strewn forests below Ostergoth a huge city high in the mountains listening to the war hounds snarl at each other and the babbling voices of a thousand people going about their business as I leave to become a Grey Warden.

Something of note to consider: when creating your character use a light touch on the skin tones as they are much darker once in game than on the character creation screen.

Controls:

I did struggle for a few minutes with the radial menu and it might seem an uphill struggle at first but slowly it is becoming comfortable and intuitive.

Difficulty: I am finding NORMAL very easy but admittedly it's early days yet, I adjusted the difficulty level in-game and boy did I notice a difference!
The traps were much harder to discover and enemies smarter and tougher.

While I should be the last to lecture I do urge you all to try and find the money to buy the game as it's projects like these that reflect everything great about gaming.
