What class are you playing as Epsilon?

I'm playing a mage, thats probably the most interesting class to play as you'll get some hate from a lot of npc's.

Elven mage or human noble?

An elven mage of course, I take the tough spiteful path Smile

Is there at least a clone out somewhere?

@Epsilon

About the game, how good is it regarding the freedom of choice/nonlinearity/choices and consequences? Is it on par with Mass Effect (a.k.a a few choices with only some worthwhile consequences) or is it more akin to the Fallouts and Arcanum?

All the 'good' previews I've seen complain about the very linear nature of the albeit good story. As I understand it though, there are different endings, but don't expect different things happening based on what you do. At least not anything major.

There might be a clone out somewhere but no scene material, i'd suggest waiting.. not so much time left.

If I were able to found it (and of course assuming there actually is one), I honestly wouldn't care about it not being scene material.

well, truthfully i think we'll see a release tomorrow.. maybe late tonight or so, feels like shitloads of people got it by now so i wouldn't be surprised. As for finding a clone, good luck.

But wow, the textures look too fucked up on 360, thank god im not playing it on console.

Yes I mentioned this earlier. Theres no Choices and Consquences (C&Q) in the main story, only in the sidequests, well there is some in the main story but nothing that really has an effect on the game as such.

It's definitely nothing like Arcanum, that was a game where all eventualities had been taken into account and you could do pretty much what you could imagine, not so here. You're very restricted by the design, though not as much as in Drakensang.

The game is definitely linear. . .so far. I am only 8 hours or so into the game, and have reached the part where you have some freedom to choose where to go next. However there is no open exploration in this game, you are definitely "forced" to go in one (of several directions). The "freedom" comes from what you encounter along the way. I am only playing this on the 360 until the PC version comes out, but its a testament to the gameplay and the world, that I will play through it again as a mage (with better graphics). The acting, the combat, the tactics involved in fighting - all top notch. Also, if the "difficulty" has been dumbed down on the console, I can't imagine what it'll be like on the PC - some of these fights are ridiculous. The Ogre battle for one - you really need to THINK before you engage. Sending your warrior in without a taunt on him/her, is a 100% garauntee that any caster is going to get aggro, and get murdered - fast. On the same token, you have to ask yourself - do I go with the sustained aggro ability (that seriously gimps your cast bar), or do I go with a castable taunt, and instead use my sustained Shield Wall ability. This isn't an I-Win button affair, you really have to pay attention (and pause) to what ALL of your characters are doing - and this means going into their tactics menu, and making sure they aren't doing something stupid: for example my mage was trying to kill one mob all his own, instead of using crowd control on one mob, and then focus firing on the mob I was attacking (there are tactics for both) and was running out of mana and getting himself killed. In the beginning tactics are limited, but as you level up you get more. Some people will want to control EVERYTHING, but you just cant do that - you're going to have to have a healthy mix of tactics/micro-management to make this game successful. My tanks are pretty much on all tactic's, but I will direct control the mage as they need more help.

some dude on another forum who downloaded the rapidshare release said it asks for a serial when trying to install, and there isn't one included, which makes the release worthless i guess.

Eh. If its out there, its only a matter of time before a keygen is made and the thing gets reupped. By the Maker I may be able to retire my Human Noble Warrior and get to REAL business with my elven Mage!
