No one is arguing about Live bans, it's service, they have a right to deny it for you if they have proof you are a pirate and that's fine. But XBOX itself belongs to YOU, it's your, you can do whatever the fuck you want with it, you can pee on it, eat it, destroy it. They can't do it, because that would be theft or destruction of property. Yes HDD after ban remains physically fine, but when you buy xbox you buy software that comes in it too, and they have no right to block access to its features.

I was banned today..I did everything the right way, in fact, I was overly protective..not playing games til a week after release, always checked through abgx and verified, never played games online..and still banned, oh well, I am kinda relieved, now I dont have to worry about it anymore and I can just play my games without worry, now I have to figure out how I can play wave 4 games with 1.51..since why bother updating my firmware now..mind as well just do it that way

You just lost install to HDD feature, your profile became corrupt so all saves and achievements after this point won't be usable on any other xbox. Not sure why are you so relieved, your xbox will also sound like a jet now.

Here is an idea Glottis. Play with some volume on the game itself also. Might not be so easy to hear the xbox jet engine then.

Wow, every time I come close to considering purchasing a 360, MS does something to totally spring me away. This hardware tempering is totally ridiculous, Class-action suit worthy, even.

If you don't connect to live you have nothing to worry about.

You mean if I never connect the console to the internet? Because what if I buy a game and want to play online? I'm reading that to make sure not to get banned after playing some of these more recent games, even if not connected to the net during playing, I have to format the drive and erase all memory and crap like that, which is ridiculous.

Just get a cheap arcade for online use, don't mod it and you'll never have to worry about bans. Modded xbox for offline and legit xbox for online is the way to go now it seems.

But what about patches? That 512mb memory is not enough for anything really. Also, for the prices they ask here, I'd never pay for two.

fuck memory cards, you just need 1 HDD and can move it easily between xboxes (if they aren't banned).

i have 2 xboxs, the flashed one im using my 120gig hd from my elite, do u think i should maybe take it out and use the 60gig spare which i havnt used? as the 120 has all my dlc and achievments on it, which i dont want to lose!

Let me get this right, you have flashed and non flashed xbox? Best course of action is to not go online with flashed one anymore, so it won't brick your hdd.

Just got my xbox elite banned, and it has never seen a copy in it!
Only used my 120gb hard drive on my old xbox360 to play mw 2 on it, and when i play orginal games i put my 120gb back to my elite!
Now my elite is banned, and my old xbox not!
strange things happening here :/
