Obsidian not Black Isle Studios... But some of the old black isle studios members are working there.
Also, Obsidian is making Never Winter Nights 2. Look at them like BioWares little brother.
I just hope KOTOR 2 isn't like a Disney sequal

yes true to a certain extent. there is still games comming out that looks really great and they will keep comming this year also. but keep in mind that the consoles are on the last year of their lifecycles now.

well actually there obviously is downloadable content. from maps to characters etc. the price is pretty cheap as well. or you can always play on xlink. how much do you pay for world of warcraft? and one can always bring in the point that pc-releases always are unfinnished because they know they can always just give out a ton of patches.

what lack of good games? in january we got mercenaries and oddworld for xbox. they were great. last year there also came alot of good games that never made it to pc. and this year as well. since we are in this thread about kotor(2) anyway i can say one thing to sum it up:"jade empire"

some games do better on console controll and some doesnt. unless you connect a controller to the pc of course, but then this point of yours doesnt matter.

The games that are coming out look mediocre, they don't compare anywhere to PC games like HL2, D3 nor FC. They're good for console standard but that's it. Graphically compared to PC games, every console game looks bad and only XBOX get's the title: mediocre. I don't care if they are in their last cycles all the more reason to say that consoles suck.
The online modes maybe cheap but they still cost money, further more you can't compare it to the PC community nor the patches and mods that are being released for PC games online. Like i said it's inferior and far beneath where the PC is at this stage, i don't see why anyone would waist money on such things.
There are also bugs in console games and you can't always iron that out with a patch, which you can via PC and rarley on any console, nothing is bug free, no console game, no PC game, but with PC games there is a much higher chance of a patch being released. If my copy of HALO 2 has some bugs (and it does) i am not in the mood to get an XBOX live subscription to DL a patch for it.... i there is a patch.
Lol good games? What good games? For every good console game there are 10 good PC games and usually console games get a port of it and sometimes that's very fucked up, look at DE2 IW, consoles fucked up that game. How many really good games come out for a console in the year? I mean console games really exclusive, console only? I can only think of three this year and those are: Halo2, Fable and MGS 3. Now how many good games got released for the PC this year? RTW, WoW, HL2, TV, the list goes on.... plz......
If i want a joystick i'll buy one instead of an XBOX or PS 2 for 100 - 200 euro, and yeah.... console games do cost more than PC games.
EDIT: with this year i mean the last 12 months, damn i am still living in 2004

yeah mods are for the pc, thats where its at, i can give you that much. but patches are pretty easy to ftp over if needed. but this you have to agree with me is more necessary for pc-games, since the developers release more halfdone games for that format than they do for console.
i can also agree with you that the "consoliation" of games sometimes just purely suck, like deus ex 2 for example. that was horrible. but i still have enjoyed games for console more than for pc lately. mercenaries and oddworld so far this year. but for pc nothing imho. maybe i just like chillin in the sofa...
and didnt you like burnout3, ninja gaiden, rallisport challenge2 last year (added to the other games you said you liked)? i can only think of 4 games i liked last year for pc: ut2004, farcry, hl2 and pirates. but this is down to personal taste so it doesnt really matter.
im happy with both formats, keeps me covered for a great year of gaming. ha!

Agreed, same goes for HALO 2, really slows down in some parts, and in the cutscenes the textures usually load too slow so before you should see what you should see you see ugly models and sometimes you see white models. Consoles suck. |
I hate absolutely none of that. No slowdown and no texture lagging. Were you playing the pirated version?

No, original version. I'm not the only one who has it though, here on TV they showed many previews of HALO2, game shows and such, even MTV showed a making of, they all had the same problems. The textures load too slow, but only for a second or two, it's nothing really bad but it's ugly to see. |

I can not say that i did not enjoy some console games, but i really doubt i will be buying another one, if i do, it will be the XBOX2, imo i think it's the only decent and mature enough console to produce good gaming quality. |

almost finished kotr...almost...i think only the "grande final" is left...but it got SO boring and repeating same things, same moves etc...probably just have to finish it some way before this sequal is out....but it got boring..pfff
