Somehow I think most of the games cancelled or at least the majority are crappy Wii games(I hope anyway).

Fuck, Dead Space was great
I did predict ea's downfall, this may be it. A shame it came when they increased game quality, strange, maybe people do buy more shit and have crappy taste.

Well we know that the studio for skate 3 was among those said to be the hardest hit..
Hope skate 3 still comes, it's the only reason i still have a xbox 360.
Losing Dead space would suck to, i loved the first game, Mirrors edge was cool too but not as good as the other two mentioned.

Dead Space was a succesfull multimedia new IP. You don't kill already established IPs to make instead entirely new games.
For all we know a lot of the games that were canceled, could be games that they hadn't even announced yet, and they killed them in favor of making sequels.

EA CEO John Riccitiello noted that "games with a 2 on them sell better" and have lower R&D costs.

How could they release this info and neglect to tell us what 12 games they canned or bother to put our fears to rest if some of the more sought after titles are safe..

Ah, to be young and naive. No, games with the production quality (and the investment that requires) that people expect nowadays cannot "sell themselves" on word-of-mouth alone. Skate 3 is not cancelled, and ME2 and DS2 were never announced, and there is no word that potential sequels to either are in development and still going forward, or were in development, and have been axed.

I don't really get into MMOs that much, but I had a pretty good time in Warhammer Online (Mythic / EA) for a bit. Sad how that turned out. Not real happy to hear about all those people being fired, either.
As long as EA doesn't do anything negative to BioWare. Ever.

Also Mirrors Edge 2 was confirmed back in june or july.

Uh, it's pretty apparent. EA has not said that Skate 3 is canceled (and really, the game is only 6 months away), so until we know something more, there is no reason to think it is.

Seems like that article is conjecture. Soderlund said "You will see another Mirror’s Edge for sure," not, "ME2 is in development right now."
