You don't need to see ping, 3 and 4 bars feel exactly like under 100 ping in CoD4. I played CoD4 online since day one and MW2 feels the same latency wise ffs.

I actually quite like the new matchmaking system, you can load the game up and join a game about to start within 10 seconds of the game loading, also like the fact you can now customise your setup in between matches without dropping out of the server, that used to really piss me off in cod4.
Not had any lag so far in about 5 hours of play, it still shouldn't have replaced dedicated servers though, there should be a 'join match', 'private match' and 'join server' modes, hopefully in a future patch or maybe future game they will add the choice, they can still have full control over the online system, put in a server browser that only lists "approved" servers or something. That way you can still have the matchmade games for people who want a quick 8v8 matchup and the real servers for the clans and game communities that run their own servers.

why they would re-add such feature?
youre happy as a random-casual-consoler gamer...
who cares if the serious fun clan community goes dead. theyre not feeding IW anyway...so...
they did 300milldollar in one day.
why bother for few pc customers?

Yeah that's the whole point. They should have both and removing dedicated servers is not the way to introduce matchmaking to the PC. I'm not gonna settle for 100+ MS when I can play with 5-20 on dedicated servers.
Great for the people that don't care but it's a huge difference between 5 and 100+ for me at least.

Just got my key 2 minutes ago, so they are still sending them out.
I had to send 6 mails to them though

Ok,just a warning about the steam release and g2play.I bought MW2 at steam ,my native language is spanish so after downloading the whole thing i decided to change the game location to english,spanish voice over is horrible.Then i had to re-download the whole thing and after playing 1 single day i try to log and surprise,surprise!,game error localization and it begins the download again 11 Gig.DO NOT CHANGE YOUR LOCATION IN GAME or you will have this bug and suffer this 11 Gib download loop.
Oh,and g2play seems to send russian keys and they are only able to play in russian NOT english.

Alright, here is my opinion about the game after playing it. (ebay keys FTW, only $33, and fast delivery)
I absolutely love the gameplay. It is the fantastic MW1, but a lot more fun IMO.
But matchmaking just kills it for me. The very first game I joined, didnt happen. The loading screen was on for about 1 min, and then I think the host was dropped, so was back to where I started.
Next game I spent about a min in the lobby while that fucking system was trying to find players. I do not understand wtf was happening, maps were changing, people dropped and added, and when we finally had enough people to go on, the thing said it was looking for a host, and then we were dropped again.
Next, again a minute in the lobby, but the match finally started but with unequal teams. Our team had more people but we still lost  . Not surprisingly host was on top (I think it was a host, he had the most bars). And even though I had 3-4 bars, something was off with bullet detection. Like I could see bullets go through somebody but nothing was registering. But still no rubberbanding, and pretty smooth gameplay so it was not bad at all.
Next I decided to try a new mod. The lobby was almost full, we had 17/18 people but the fucking game still wanted to merge with another server. So we waited. Then I was in another lobby with a lot less people. Again I got sent to another lobby with even fucking less people. And finally the lobby closed and I was back to where I started. WTF.
And what happened to matchmaking paring you up with people about your own level. I was level 1 but I got paired up with 2 level 40-50s, and the rest were in their 30s. Still I did well, but obviously they did better.
Also is there a way to filter a HC game. I absolutely hate not HC games. Takes way too many bullets to kill somebody
Well here is my story about one hour with matchmaking. I hate that fucking system. Not only lobbies are stupid, I do not want to wait, I want to jump in and play, not wait till that thing tries to find people, Im not that stupid, I can do it on my own, just gimme a server browser. But once you get into the game, it is a lot of fun, it is just unfortunate that IW thinks people are too stupid to find their own servers.
Edit: Forgot to add that even though we didnt have max amount of people, the map didnt feel empty. The map I played was really small, so it was fun.
Sig too big. -Nothing is too big for Fedor. Expect a nasty armbar.

So I still haven't recieved my key from G2Play. As I said earlier, first and last time I purchase anything from them. According to their Twitter, they were sending out keys 9 hours ago. I doubt it takes that long to send them out, even if they are in the thousands.

I've not even touched MP yet, just been having a blast on SP ... and what a blast it is! Every bit the epic equal to the original MW. This game is fucking awesome so far ^_^

I've read mixed feelings about the MP part. I'm kind of a casual gamer (never been part of a clan or whatever) and I'm hesitating to buy a 30€ key. I'm afraid it will get boring very quickly (the only multiplayer game I bought was BF2 and I never regreted it!).
What do you guys think ?

Yes, I sent them an email this morning (13 hours ago) if they had their keys in yet, and they told me they would have them this afternoon. I haven't heard from them since.

MP is tons of fun, there's a lot to do. It has many RPG elemets with experience, leveling up, challenges and so on and so forth. There's a huge sense of progress when you play MP. I assume you didn't even play CoD4 MP? Then you are especially in for a surprise cos it will feel completely new.
