Yeah me. I found out my console was banned when I ran the test. I was not banned BECAUSE of the test.

I can't believe that people are stupid enough to think that they aren't connecting to LIVE when the run the LIVE connection test Rolling Eyes

yes i got banned just doing a network test (it tells you its connecting to xbox live) on a rrod console id just fixed, had no storage devices plugged into it. of course the console was probably flagged for banning sometime ago.

so what exactly happens to the HDD on the banned console? I dont care about my saves or my achievements, but can I use it normally on a new 360? Do I need to create a new gamertag?

yes you can use hdd on new 360, but you wont be able to use the install to hdd feature on the banned 360. no new gamertag required

ok guys..i just tried xbox live and it was fine and i am not banned..but the question is, must i stay on live for like 5 mins or do ppl get the ban message instanly when they try to login? cuz i only hooked up to live..and it worked fine and in 5 secs and turned down the etherne cable and playing offline..can anyone answer?

If your console is banned, you can't connect to Live. At all.

If your console is banned, you can't connect to Live. At all.

correct me if im wrong but if you do the test without your HDD connected and dont update anything it shouldent fuck your HDD. even if you get the banned message or the Z code. i know its says you need a update but just cancel it. and you should should still be fine right? just never go online and do any update if you see your banned

I have been playing forza 3 connected to live everyday for the last one week, today I sign in to live and get the banned message. I dont think it asked me to run any update or anything. I just turned off the box after I got the message and connected my unbanned box.

Well if you don't have your HDD connected then it won't corrupt it. I'd have thought that was obvious. And that is the only advantage of doing the connection test to see if your banned if you only have 1 storage device between 2 360's.

Hey guy's.
Been away for a week so probably a lot of new news/theories have come about, so just have a few questions on my behalf and a friend.

Im now banned from Live but i didn't have the HDD attached, I have a legit machine to play online. Is it ok for me to plug the HDD into the legit console and play along or will doing that corrupt it?

Would i be able to swap the HDD from the legit machine to the now offline banned one and back again?

My friend has also just been banned but he had his 20gb HDD plugged in when it happened. He's just bought a Forza edition with the 250gb and want's to know if he transfer's the saves/dlc from his 20gb to his new 250gb via the transfer cable - is this wise to do?

You can switch the HD to the legit machine. Logical thinking would get you there, too, as why would switching harddrives corrupt anything?

Connecting a HD to any banned machine will corrupt it. Reformat is necessary after that, unless you want to keep playing on the banned box.

About transferring data - I don't know. I don't think anybody has ever been (console) banned permanently for using the cable, but I wouldn't risk it over some save game data. Smile

Looks like new Liteon drives are now hacked. You can flash new liteons with older revision Liteon iXtreme fw and it will work.

No. It doesn't mean that at all. All that it means is that all liteon drives can now be flashed with iX 1.6.

Wave 4 support will come later with iX LT.
