Actually I think it's IW's doing, not Valve's. Few of my buddies bought TF2 today from OKS and their keys are still working, and so is my L4D key.. It seems only MW2 is affected.

ive tons of key in my steam from OKS and just MW2 isnt working . . .

Don't these key places usually get their cheap keys from Russia? Maybe it has something to do with the game being removed from sale in Russia and purchased copies being recalled due to the offensive content. Russian keys blacklisted maybe?

im playing all evening ... there are more players with .159 than any other version (according to playlist numbers .. like 50k out of 80k total lol ... takes a bit longer to get into a game, for some reason, but usually between 0 and 3 minutes +- ... guess more and more people getting crack haha.
edit: wondering to know what a legit player has for numbers in find game (in playlist/total online)

Anyway, I guess it's like this really:
Key stores business model is simple:
1. Buy game in cheap Asian market for say £10
2. Take key out of box
3. Sell key on website for £25
4. ???
5. PROFIT!
However in this case:
6. Activision realise large numbers of keys are being used outside their market. They conclude they are being sold online without a valid license, so to protect their greedy cocks and protect the official distribution channels in US/Europe etc they disable the grey market method.
