Previous crack might work, it's just a launcher after all, unsure if there's any new interesting triggers though. Smile
(I still use the "nocd" that Rockstar provided SecuROM with, was later pulled but it still works fine, launcher updates are probably just newer SecuROM revisions as the main game is GTAIV.exe but it has to be started from the launcher exe.)

Grand_Theft_Auto_IV_v1.0.4.0_Update-RazorDOX works fine for SinglePlayer but it doesnt work when you try to play online so im hoping we get a new crack that also works for MP.

the new patch blocks you from entering MP if you have any files in your GTA IV folder that doesnt really belong to it hence they added 1911.dll to the blocked list.

Quote:

Ok, after I instaled patch 5 Multiplayer worked fine.No problem !
After some days I started to modify some text in american.gxt (maybe some hacks barf8bd.gif ) and after when I was tryng to join MP the game displayed this message: "Can't join Multiplayer, returning to Singleplayer".
Now, patch 5 added a lot of protection to MP ! The game is looking for modified files even in text ! It blocks trainers , 1911.dll , and the rest of the files that are modified.

1 solution would be to move 1911.dll to a different folder and link it to the crack inside GTA IV folder but i have no idea how that works.

WE NEED A NEW CRACK

No you dont.

Grab these 2 files and copy into your GTA Folder. You need BOTH, as the filecheck.fix is a plugin for AsiLoader.

Allows you to load your own libraries to GTA IV.
Libraries must have *.asi extensions, like it was in VC and SA (thx 2 Jerenej L.).

"Asi loader v1.0.2b works with 1.0.3, 1.0.4, 1.0.0.4"

http://alexander.sannybuilder.com/Files/IVAsiLoader.rar

This is plugin for ASI Loader that removes game file checking and allows to change any game files. Also this plugin unbinds filelst.pak so u don't need any patchers. Fix is marked as "Advance" from 1.0.0.4 patch because 1.0.0.4 has the detection of asi loader, asi plugins and some other files like 1911.dll, this check is also disabled by this fix.

http://alexander.sannybuilder.com/Files/IV.FileCheckFix.rar

Supports GTA IV v1.0.0 - 1.0.0.4
In version 1.0.3.0 , 1.0.4.0 , 1.0.0.4 file check is enabled only for MP-suspicious files

NOTE:

Remove any trainers/Mods you have that use scripthook.dll as they will NOT work, as this file needs to be re-written, they are working on it, but will take time...

Hey guys I'm getting crashes right after the game finishes loading. Using Razor 1.0.4.0 crack. Tried the Asi loader thing (although that's only for MP, right?), tried deleting saved games, still same. I can hear the audio start, but then it crashes out.

EDIT: nevermind.. was being caused by beta nvidia drivers.

Sorry for the bump but I just installed the new patch 5 via ingame cause LIVE asked me to install it. So I did and now when I try to launch gta it just says gta has stopped working and crashes. Any fix? Does gta still for for people after patch 5 with live? Thanks.

Are you using any specific cracks or mods? 1.0.4 or what it's version number is now has a few compatibility issues with certain mods and security improvements like blacklisting Rzr.dll so that method won't work anymore. (You can use xLIVEless to get around this along with a mod script that allows you to load such files. - http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=380830 - http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=388658 )

I did have a trainer with a scripthoog.dll. I removed it from my folder and now I am getting fatal error WS10. I am guessing my best bet is to re install the game.

You might need to update any loader like dsound.dll (ASI loader.) or scripthook.dll as they might be outdated. (Made for the previous patch.)

Bugs and such are more or less completely fixed as of the latest patch and it does run a bit better but if you start pushing the settings performance will come down and it requires a lot of RAM (And VRAM) to maintain good framerate and minimize stuttering due to how far above the console version Rockstar pushed the various settings.
(Stable 60 FPS with everything as high as possible without tweaking anything is probably going to need a 5970 with a i7 975 3 and 6 GB RAM or so, haha, might be overdone a bit but it is a very demanding game due to how far it pushes most systems.)

Ofcourse the deferred renderering engine has that drawback of being incapable of normal AA under DX9 so it'll look a bit jaggy due to all alpha channel objects (Or what the term is.) like fences, masts, vegetation and more and it uses a sort of dithering effect for distant stuff that can look a bit odd at times. (Shadows on distant buildings for example.)

Even more annoying is the disc check plus online activation plus XLIVE plus RGSC albeit most of this can be culled with xLiveLess if you are not much for MP gaming and a modified launcher from SecuROM (Still needs online activation but no disc check.) or just using a crack with the file check fix script and maybe xLiveLess.

There should be another patch sometime in the future as well from what I've read, 1.0.4.0 was a sort of small maintenance fix and 1.0.0.4 fixes a few things here and there while also adding support for L&D achievements although there's no details on a PC version of that addon other than that.

Mod scene is pretty active though I don't use much myself, some texture improvements and weather configuration mods, ENB also looks promising as of 0.76 though as usual it'll require some configuration to look it's best along with other mods and graphical tweaks. Smile

Game is fun and all other than that though there were much more to do and see in the previous installments.
(Which gave Saints Row a excellent chance to compete but that port ended up pretty bad even after two patches and any future support was dropped, I guess focus shifted to Red Faction which ended up a bit better but the wait for that first patch took forever, Mercenaries 2 kinda fared the same though Saboteur worked quite well aside from a few minor annoyances now fixed in the beta update though I'm sure there's still a bit more that could be fixed.)

I guess the next bigger free-roam game might be AC2 and then Mafia 2 whenever it's released in early 2010 (Or what the current release schedule was again.)
(There's all sorts of other interesting titles coming out next year of course, will be interesting to see how those end up.)

Leaked press information on a twitter page from a reviewer.

Do you have a source for it? A screenshot, or some news site mentioning it?

Patches are cumulative, odd that you still get that error, that file check fix I linked to earlier supposedly tries to prevent said error but that's when using mods and script loader stuff and not for the default game as far as I know.
(Is the LIVE client as such up to date?)

I bought it on Steam the other day when it was on sale and installed it on my clean Win7 boot but haven't had a chance to try it....hope I don't run into issues as I was really starting to enjoy it and wanted to try the MP.

I had installed the rzr release a couple of weeks ago on my e600 quad, 4gig RAM, and 8800GT using Vista 64 at a res of 1680x1050.

With the exception of some cut scenes where I get a little bit of stutter the actual action is running pretty good. It does seem to have a memory leak if I do a marathon run though.

This was with settings on High with the exception of water and the vid texture setting (haven't tried the -norestrict thing yet) and of course modest slider settings.

I've done the same and it worked without any issues / tweaking, with Win7 64. So dunno.

Yes, I tried it some weeks ago, but unfortunately it hasn't risolved my problems Neutral
There are also some other useful tips in that forum, but none of them really worked
