|
 |
Well, I've spent about a day trying to get this thing re-flashed. The problems started when I had to put my old VIA card into a new machine with a fresh install of windows xp because windows 7 x64 no longer flashes correctly.
So.. I put the card in, plug it into the xbox dvd drive as I normally do, goto read the device ID thing... and 0x51 error code.. Nothing about this is mentioned in the jungleflash documentation so I'm left moving PCI cards about etc etc.
Still doing the same error code, then out of trial and error figure out that the drivers need installed.. so I goto the VIA site and install the SATA drivers.
oops! it seems you need to use the IDE drivers (despite the card being sata, wtf) ANYWAY I goto uninstall the drivers and you guessed it.. error time! it seems I can't uninstall these drivers using the installer (wtf via)
So I goto manually uninstall it via device manager.. you guessed it.. more errors about needing a type of .sys file. So when you give it the .sys file it needs, it only goes and installs the SATA drivers again! ... What a pain in the arse.
I assume the only way to get these drivers on it now, is to completely hose the system and start again. unless of course, there is a way to fix this without having to do that.. heh

Lol, for some reason (most likely the shitty bios) won't dual boot between Windows XP 32bit and Windows 7 64Bit.

If it's a newer machine your mobo's SATA ports should work just fine, why bother with the old VIA card at all?

Well good to hear you solved it. But I've flashed every single type of drive using my motherboard (ASUS) SATA ports.

Aye, same here. Asus P5K using ICH9 SATA ports - which are compatible with flashing 360 drives. My old Asus board using ICH8 SATA was also compatible.
