hi everybody,

lots of swedish people here...

as me and my friend have limited holiday opportunities, we are going to stockholm 27-30december on a short cultural trip.

What should we visit? No party, no clubs etc, because we do that in the weekends at home. What is worthwile visiting or seeing.

museums
Parks
any manchester united-ish good sporting team
buildings
exhibitions
natural viewpoints/animal/island/whatever
any good shop

btw, whats the best way to get around, as we will have no car

Well, I dont exactly live in Stockholm, but my suggestion is that you buy a buss/subway pass which lasts a few days to make it easy to move around.

I wish I could give you some suggestions about what to do but I forgot all of the bits that I visited when last in Stockholm. There was that big park/zoo combination, ohh and the old town. Cool Face

Be sure to visit the SLM club in Södermalm, I hear it's the best place in the city.

Still haven't been there but the one place you absolutely have to visit is the old town. Also I've heard there are shitload of museums, can't name any though.

If you visit Stockholm, the best way of traveling without car is the subway in my opinion. There's a lot of things to do in Stockholm, and I suggest getting a tourist folder. There are some sights definitely worth seeing, such as 'Gamla Stan' (Old town), The Royal Palace, The Golden Hall in the State house, 'Skansen' (which is a nature park with animals), The Modern Museum (highly recommended) and the Nature Historic Museum (Naturhistoriska Muséet). Also to travel by boat through Stockholm is pretty nice.

There's plenty of sports related teams in Stockholm, and the gem is of course south-Stockholm. I'm sure that there's someome who knows that better than me. But the pubs and the mood there is great.

Why would you go to Sweden, when Denmark is right next door? Very Happy

Granted everything but booze is slightly more expensive, but hey cheap booze!!11

8 out of 10 dentists prefer zipfero to competing brands(fraich3 and Mutantius)!

Stockholm is a beautiful city.. it's a shame it's full of stockholmians though. Nasty, irritable people! I'm from Gothenburg myself and I'm always amazed at how rude and unfriendly most people are in Stockholm.

Flame on. Smile

Yeah it might just be that they're extra rude to me, who knows. I've met several nice friendly girls from Stockholm though, so they're not all bad. Smile
