i wonder , what about us with DX10 cards? i dont care for the extra eye candy, but expecting DX9 effects to be rendered faster under DX10.

Why? DX10 is just DX9.0c plus an extended API. There are no new effects done by the hardware, neither are existing ones done better or faster. DX10.1 is the next step generation wise. The whole Vista/DX10 thing was a huge marketing hoax and imho same goes with DX11. Tessellation is nothing new and since theres such a huge drop in performance it just looks like all is done software wise with just a DX11 enabled driver. At the end everything depends on the devs skills anyway.

Yes thanks for the links. The articles say exactly what i mean: easier for the devs, nearly no difference for the consumer. Uhh and thx for that animal pic but grow up dude Wink

well that's the point isn't it, for u to buy a new hw just to see the difference, if it supported dx10 the difference would've been minimal, that's why it wasn't implemented, so fools will run and buy new toys, for me it loox like nfs undercrapper on even more aggressive acid run

DX10[.1] doesn't have hardware tessellation, so what's the point. Not like this game supports any other feature of DX10 or DX11.

They use some different shader techniques that makes the image a bit less blurry as well plus other enhanced post-processing effects, aside from HW tesselation however said techniques can probable be done quite easily with DX10 functionality.
(Although from what I know this game is only DX9 and DX11 to emphasis more on DX11 being "better" instead of just a improvement building upon DX10, although it has a nice set of features it's not like the visuals will differ all that much.)

at the speed of 100mp/h i would'be hardly looking around admiring some effects they added combined with motion blur, sorry, i would be more concentrated at the road itself

And all that bloom, I hope people find a way to disable it like in the first game via XML modification. Bloom was tastefully done on Grid, but here... Damn.

Uh what? Bloom looks great in this game. DIRT1 had horribly overdone bloom, but in DIRT2 it's very tastefully done. Maybe you didn't see Malaysia or Croatia tracks in action, they look mind blowing.

No, I haven't. I'm talking about the screenshots posted here, which demonstrate much awful bloom, definitely worse than the first one.

Yeah it was extremely overused, especially in 2-3 stages (including ); hopefully there was the Bloom Tweaker that made things less epileptic Smile

As far as I've read there was some bugs or something like that so it was delayed, might be released on Monday but we'll see.
(That's right next to the full games "December 1st" release date so you could always "demo" that instead, haha.)

Don't know yet if it's real or not. Must be checked. ATM i'm downloading it ~400KB/s ,a bit slow.

The archive has a pass. and that 2u.com.cn site is in chinese. So i guess we won't find anything in there.
