As with every year, there's the need to buy gifts, for me it's for my family (parents and a sis and brother, both younger) and my living-together GF.

Thankfully, I've managed to figure out gifts for all of the above except for my brother, but I'm sure i'll think of something Smile


How about you other people? Do you buy gifts for each other? Managed to come up with something for everyone? Razz

My mums birthday is 1 week before xmas... sucks.
Well - I know what my father will get - but gf, their parents, rest of the family... nooooo fuckin idea.
I hate xmas...

I have to buy for siblings aswell, older sister younger brother. Then prolly a small gift for my nephew, maybe fix that together with my sisters present Wink

Then my mother and father. Plus my dads has b-day 3 days after x-mas and my mother 3 days before. Expensive holiday Sad

Well, tell that to my gf. I'm not receiving any money right now (although I _should_ get a student loan so I can pay for my living expenses - good thing I still live with my parents otherwise I'd have my landlord in my neck telling me to pay the rent...)

Come on. I'm a guy and I suck even more at giving gifts than the average guy ;_;
My parents don't expect anything with me not getting any money and my brother currently being unemployed (normally we'd think of something together and share the costs)
My brother and I never really gave each other gifts but that's gonna change sooner or later anyway (getting older and shit... Listen to me, 23 and talking about getting older. Pathetic)
So I just have to get something for my gf but she'll probably get a book this year.
Apart from my gf I only know one person who gets happy as a little schoolgirl about getting a gift. And that's me Very Happy

My brothers and I agreed to not get each other anything this year and just pool our money together to get something good for my parents. We are thinking about sending them on a vacation somewhere. And that's all the gifts I need to get.

i mean, it is plain stupid. you never can do well with presents, why do people keep bothering?

my mum used to ask me on a very 'subtle' way what i wanted Rolling Eyes, so i always was veeery surprised... and then i gave something stupid back she would never use.

With my brothers, we just exchanged enveloppes with money, so that is also plain stupid, so i just stopped caring Very Happy


This year i bought a book for one of my brother though. I know he wanted to buy it, and i saw it in the shop, so i bought it. Now i have to decide xmas gift or not, because the rest aint getting anything Laughing

Fuckin' A Spankie - you hit the nail on the head! Why do people always have to complicate things in the name of keeping up appearances or traditions?

Most gift giving consists of one of the following - none of which ends well...
-I get you something epic, your gift pales in comparison, you feel like shit.
- Vice versa, I feel like shit.
- Envelopes with equal amounts of money, back to square one.

I'm not an asshole, I care, but I don't do well under that kind of fucking goddamn pressure, UNDERSTAND?! Evil or Very Mad

Just give me a call Christmas Eve or write an email - keep it simple.

I only buy for my little brother and maybe something small for my parents but not always depends on how much money I'm making.

8 out of 10 dentists prefer zipfero to competing brands(fraich3 and Mutantius)!

I actually bought my own Xmas present this year, since my wife thought it was to complicated for her. Bought a Micro collective pitch RC helicopter for my office. Smile

I think gift cards are still best presents for all occasions..you don't have to worry if person will like/dislike the present..they can buy the fuck they want for themselves...rather than QQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQ for a year how shitty their gift was
